I always dreamed of being in the Music Business but didn’t think I would one day be running a actual company so when my cousin Scott asked me would I manage them and start a label I bought 2 books Donald Passmans book All you need to know about the music business and Kashif’s book who has been in the business book everything youd better know about the record industry 2 must haves and get you a lawyer on retainer some how. Anything you plan to do you need to do your homework and research whatever career you choose and write down your plan. I bought a epson printer to print directly on the cd had a graphic designer do a layout of everything . Did flyer, cards, business
cards, Posters . We shoot low budget videos did. Interviews ..Had are in house producers Bob Dog Kebode also had Dj Battlecat Big MaMa Records & Productions artist Prisoners.Of.Watts Cressha, MOE, Enemy Mortisha, Coming Of Age was my start and I had to lay the foundation. I really worked hard to put a team
together to get the job done. My job was to help get the artist out to the public but the. artist. needs to have some type of
budget. a artist has to realize they have too find innvestors someone that believes in them and their Music or raise money anyway possible need $ 50,000 to 100,00 or whatever they come up with..Then take the
finished product to Rainbow Records or any pressing spot. I got cds and vinyl presseed up I spent my money too learn what needed to be done
how to do a project from start to finish…Once you record the song get it mixed by a mix master once mastered but it out those are the steps..
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Family my mother friends investing prayer and having the right people that believes in you, YOU..I hustled and made most of the Money to invest got the insurance then started the Entertainment company. 2020 I funded the non-profit to help my community with resources..with. the county heelp because I am a vendor did research and learned little by little. Just keep going ..
