Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marci Scott-Andes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Marci, appreciate you joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Some of the main steps that I needed an order to launch my business was basically an idea. With the idea came from being locked up and Covid. I knew that I wanted to continue helping people in the field of health and fitness trainer. I just didn’t know how to go about doing it after a good little while I realize that I could take my business online and that’s what I did one of my very first clients came to me because I started promoting myself on social media as being the go to. When my first client came to me, he simply said that he had tried everything that he before, and with no results, and was really interested in in my programs. From there, I’ll set him up with a program that allowed him to work with me the program itself was an app that had all the exercises in it, as well as a nutrition app, so that I could give him the nutritional guidelines that he needed. I hired a business coach that helped me expand my online business since I didn’t know what I was doing. And they helped me immensely getting the right information out to the right type of clientele that I was looking to help. Since starting my business I have helped hundreds of men lose 20 to 60 pounds, learn how to eat better, and gain more energy throughout the day. Which enables them to spend more time with their family and kids.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
How I got into the business was back in 2010. I got hired as a cycle instructor at a big box gym from there. I became a trainer. Once I got into the fitness field I knew this was my passion is something that I wanted to do. From there, I decided that I needed more education for nutrition, because I realize nutrition really is the missing component when it comes to health and fitness. Most people don’t know how to eat properly, they don’t know what to eat, and they don’t know the correct macros that they need for their bodies as well as the correct caloric intake. The nutrition side of working out is definitely something that needed to be done and I knew that as a trainer and wanting to help people that this was where I was going to set myself apart from other trainers. The one thing that I’m really proud about my brand of my work ethic is that I really have a hands-on approach with all of my clients. No one goes or falls through the cracks. I don’t have so many clients where I cannot have a conversation with them once a week. I make sure that they are well cared for and it’s not literally just a transactional process. I want my clients to feel heard and appreciated. I want them to have success with their online program when they come work for me
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
How I built my audience on social media, simply through posting relevant content that speaks to my ideal client. So, for those that are looking to get started on social media, I would definitely say listen to what your clients or followers are saying their biggest struggles are. For me I’ll listen to my clients when they have the initial interview to come work with me, I also have them fill out the forms through periodically throughout the program so that I can understand exactly their pain points and what’s working and what’s not working. From there I literally put that into either a static post, a real, or a story, so that it speaks to other men (which is who I work with), so that they know, I have the authority on their pain points. That I can provide the answers for them when nothing else has worked for them in the past.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep in contact with my clients through FaceTime, or zoom. We have one on one meetings weekly, I also do a group coaching call once a week on Tuesday’s at 7:30pm, est, which allows me to be able to teach them simple, nutritional healthy habits that they can take with them for the rest of your life. The one thing that I really appreciate is when past clients reach out to me and say that they are taking what they learned for me through these group meetings, and applying it to their life. And that they maintain her weight, and that they are continually on their path of weight loss, feeling good, having energy, and being able to live their life the way they want it to when they first came to me. That to me, makes me feel good! And it let’s me know that my programs definitely work if clients do the work.
