We were lucky to catch up with Marcella Kroll recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Marcella thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
I never anticipated that this work would become my full-time career, yet now I can’t imagine pursuing any other path. Throughout my life, I’ve remained steadfastly connected to my creativity, which, along with my spiritual practices and a belief in an ineffable greater force, has provided a consistent foundation amid life’s challenges. Although I embarked on an artistic career in my twenties, I was disheartened—not by the art itself, but by the business aspects. Similarly, my journey into spiritual counseling began as a necessity. However, after transitioning to a full-time role as a professional spiritual counselor in 2009, I was able to revisit my artistic aspirations. This convergence of paths has allowed me to create, write, and publish my own divination tools while also developing classes designed to empower others.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who may not be familiar with me, I’m Marcella Kroll, and I’m deeply passionate about blending my artistic and spiritual practices to create meaningful experiences for others.
My path began with a longstanding connection to creativity and spirituality. From a young age, I was deeply engaged with my artistic side, and my spiritual practices were a constant source of guidance and inspiration. Despite facing challenges, including a difficult childhood, near death experiences, and overcoming financial challenges, I persevered. It was this persistence that started out of necessity but evolved into a profound calling.
Today, I offer a range of tools and services that merge my artistic vision with my spiritual insights:
I have created and published several Oracle and Tarot Decks, Books, and teach classes and workshops that help individuals gain clarity, insight, and trust in their own inner compass on their spiritual journeys. One of my greatest achievements was being the first to create and teach “Intro to Tarot for Teens” with the Los Angeles Public Library for 14 years.
My spiritual counseling services are tailored to provide personalized support and guidance. A lot of times offering the client deep perspectives and clarity around blocks that might be getting in the way of their success. I also offer artistic consultations that integrate my creative expertise with spiritual insights.
What sets me apart is the unique way I combine these two worlds—art and spirituality. My work isn’t just about creating products or offering services; it’s about creating a transformative experience that resonates deeply with individuals. The integration of my artistic vision with spiritual practices allows me to offer something truly distinctive.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that my work is driven by a sincere desire to make a positive difference in your life. Whether you’re seeking guidance through divination tools, looking to enhance your spiritual practice, or wanting to explore your own creativity, I am here to support and inspire you. My brand is built on a foundation of authenticity, creativity, and spiritual insight, and I am dedicated to helping you connect with your own inner power and potential. But be forewarned, I am not for you if you don’t want to do the work or take accountability. It’s sometimes can feel uncomfortable to do this kind of soul searching, and I do not promise it will cushy, but it will be worth it.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my work. I look forward to the possibility of working together and supporting you on your journey.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I believe one of the challenges non-creatives might face in understanding my journey is a general skepticism about the viability and legitimacy of a creative career. Society often undervalues the arts, viewing them as less practical or less essential compared to more conventional careers. This perspective can be especially pronounced when it comes to creative professions, which might be perceived as hobbies rather than serious, sustainable careers.
From my own experience, the arts have always been more than just a career choice; they are the core of my being. They provide a sense of purpose and peace that nothing else can. My creativity is not something that can be taken from me or diminished—it’s an integral part of who I am, much like my spiritual connection.
The struggle often lies in reconciling the creative journey with societal expectations. There’s a misconception that a career in the arts is less stable or less valuable. In reality, creativity drives innovation, brings joy, and enriches lives in ways that are profound and deeply impactful. For me, art isn’t just a profession; it’s a vital expression of my soul and a source of inner fulfillment.
I hope sharing this perspective helps illuminate the depth and significance of a creative path. Creativity isn’t just about producing work; it’s about connecting with something fundamental within oneself and contributing something meaningful to the world. It’s a legitimate and vital pursuit that brings a unique and irreplaceable value to our lives and society.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I began building my audience on social media when Instagram was still in its early days, back when it was just a platform for sharing pictures with a few filters. I like to think I was among the first to start sharing my passion for magic, intuition, readings, and art in that space. It was an exciting time to be part of social media as it was in its golden age of fostering authentic connections with people who shared similar interests.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to witness and be part of a community that has grown and evolved. I’ve connected with so many wonderful people from around the world, and I’m proud to say that I built my following organically. While this approach comes with its share of ups and downs, particularly for your nervous system, it has been incredibly rewarding.
For those just starting to build their social media presence, my main piece of advice is to make your social media experience personal and true to yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in the metrics and the need for validation, but what matters most is that you feel good about what you’re sharing. There will be fluctuations in your audience and engagement, and that’s perfectly normal. Focus on creating content that resonates with you and aligns with your passions. Authenticity will attract the right people who appreciate and connect with your genuine voice.
In the end, social media should be an extension of who you are, not a source of stress or external validation. Stay true to yourself, and the connections and opportunities will follow.
