Hi Marcela, thanks for joining us today. We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?

A few years ago, during a full moon, a time when the veil feels thinner and intuition becomes louder I lived a moment that forever shaped my path as a healer. I had just woken up from a nap and noticed several missed calls from one of my clients. When I called her back, her voice was trembling: her two young daughters had fallen out of a second story window.
They lived more than an hour and a half away, so my husband and I drove to the hospital where they had been taken. When we arrived, the girls were asleep and the doctors assured us they were fine. Tests showed no injuries, no neurological concerns.. But spiritually, something was not right. Their bodies were present, but their spirit and essence felt distant. Their eyes looked empty, as if the soul had stepped outside the physical form.
On our way back home, something unusual happened. I always stay awake on long drives, especially when returning from the mountains. But that night, I fell into a deep, sudden sleep. I knew it wasn’t ordinary fatigue it was a spiritual sign.
Hours later, in the middle of the night, I was awakened by a clear presence from the spirit world. It wasn’t a dream. It was a message:
“The younger girl needs you. Her soul is calling.”
The next morning, the mother contacted us again. The girls had been taken to the main hospital in our city because the younger one wasn’t feeling well. And when I saw them again, it was unmistakable: they were physically alive, but spiritually absent. In my culture, we call this “susto” a deep shock that causes the soul to disconnect from the body.
Even the girls’ pediatrician friend of mine noticed something unusual. She said, “Their bodies are fine, but they are not here. Their eyes it’s like they’re looking through you.”
The soul retrieval needed to be done the ancient way, just as my mother, grandmother, and the healers of my lineage used to do it. But we needed the special alcohol used in traditional curanderismo. By divine timing, a friend traveled to Mexico that same day and brought it back for us.
Because the trauma was significant, the ceremony had to be done on a sacred day either Tuesday or Friday days traditionally aligned with soul work. We waited until Friday, exactly at noon, the moment the sun is at its highest point. In ancestral medicine, sunlight becomes a beacon, a lighthouse for the soul to find its way home.
When the ceremony began, everything shifted instantly. The energy in the space changed in a profound and unmistakable way. The girls remained calm, and in that very moment like a breath returning to the body their eyes regained life. Their spirits anchored back into their bodies without hesitation, with the support of prayer, light, and the ancestral calling of their name through the portal at the back of the neck.
The father looked at me and said softly, with tears in his eyes,
“They’re back.”
That day reminded me of something sacred and powerful:
Many people walk through life missing pieces of their soul. Trauma, fear, accidents, emotional shock all of it can cause separation. But the soul can return. The body knows. The spirit remembers. And the ancient ways still work.
Soul retrieval is not just healing it is a return to wholeness.
It restores presence, vitality, emotional grounding, and clarity.
This experience reaffirmed my purpose as a curandera. It reminded me that my work is not only to help people release pain, but to help them return to themselves to bring the soul back home when it wanders.

My name is Marcela Saavedra, and I am a modern curandera, Shamanic Reiki teacher, and founder of two aligned but distinct brands: Sacred Shamanic Medicine and Always Hermosa. My work is rooted in ancestral healing, intuitive energy work, and the spiritual wisdom passed down through my lineage. Everything I do every session, every product, every teaching is created with love, respect, and deep intention.
I guide individuals through emotional, ancestral, and spiritual transformation, helping them release trauma, reconnect with their inner truth, and return to a place of harmony and wholeness. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is healing the wounded inner-child, the parts of us that were neglected, silenced, or hurt. Through my teachings, I help people reclaim those lost pieces, reconnect with joy, awaken self-love, and invite more happiness into their lives.
I entered this path naturally. I grew up around healers my mother, my father, and the elders who practiced traditional medicine in my community. As a child, I witnessed soul retrievals, limpias, and energy work as everyday acts of love. These teachings became part of me long before I understood them. Later in life, through my own healing process, I realized that this wasn’t just something I grew up around, it was my calling.
Through Sacred Shamanic Medicine, I offer emotional and energetic healing, soul retrieval, ancestral work, Shamanic Reiki initiations, inner child restoration, guided ceremonies, and spiritual mentorship. Many people come to me carrying trauma, fear, disconnection, or “susto” when a sudden shock causes the soul to step outside the body. My role is to guide them gently back into themselves with compassion, love, and spiritual grounding.
What sets my work apart is the combination of ancestral tradition, intuitive spiritual connection, emotional understanding, and modern holistic wellness. I create spaces where people feel safe to be vulnerable, to release, to rediscover themselves, and to reconnect with the parts of their soul that they thought were lost. My healings go deep into lineage, identity, childhood, and spirit. Clients often describe the experience as coming home to themselves after years of feeling disconnected.
Alongside my healing practice, I created Always Hermosa, a botanical skincare line rooted in clean ingredients and energetic intention. I am proud of many things, but what moves me the most is watching people transform, seeing clients reconnect with their inner child, reclaim their joy, open their hearts, and begin to love themselves again. Those moments are the true purpose of my work.
What I want people to know about my brand and my mission is this:
Healing is possible.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

My business partner is my husband, Rafael, the guardian spirit of my work. In our tradition, the healer opens the portal, but someone must stand at the threshold. He is that presence. I always say every brujita needs her protector, the one who shields the space, holds the energy steady, and keeps foreign forces away.
Together we move as one:
I travel into the unseen, and he guards the doorway of light.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Another reason my reputation grew is because I am very intentional about who I work with. I don’t take on clients who are not ready for this level of healing, or who don’t have respect for the spirit world. My work requires openness, trust, and reverence because we are not just shifting emotions, we are working with the soul.
People who come to me know that I honor the spiritual realm deeply.
I protect the space.
I respect the ancestors, the elements, and the energies involved.
And I expect the same respect from anyone who seeks healing.
When someone is not ready emotionally, energetically, or spiritually the work cannot unfold the way it is meant to. So I only work with those who approach the process with sincerity, respect, and a genuine desire to heal.
This boundary is part of what has shaped my reputation.
People feel the safety, the integrity, and the sacredness of the space I create.
They know I show up with love and compassion and I expect them to show up with respect and responsibility.
