Alright, Marcel & Andre thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Our most meaningful project I think has been our latest one with Su North. His song is called Speedin and visually and sonically we put a lot into it creatively to incapsulate that summertime vibe. It was also awesome working with the indie pop star Limbo!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Marcel and Andre are both industry professionals. Marcel is a cinematographer, and Andre is a music producer and audio engineer. Creatively their worlds are interwoven, as they compliment each others visuals and sound design.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For us, we just love to create. Whether it’s listened to or viewed doesn’t much matter to us, it’s just about the act of creation and expression by exploring different topics within our art. This is and always will be our goal, never chasing views or listens.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
We used to do live music streams, which were awesome and we’d love to be able to really do again, but unfortunately it got to a point where they just felt like work and they were no longer unique. Everything we do we want to feel nuanced and it got to a point where music live streams just felt oversaturated and stale. Especially as we saw our structure starting to be mimicked for profit, and we didn’t want any part in what felt like what was starting to become “competition”. We founded our vision on wanting to put the musician first, and that was beginning to be lost so we had to step away.
