Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mar Malik. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mar , appreciate you joining us today. One of our favorite things to hear about is stories around the nicest thing someone has done for someone else – what’s the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
During the peak of my creative journey in Dallas when I first moved there, my mom passed August 2023. With all of my family being on the east coast and moving to Dallas by myself, I was alone when I was notified of the unfortunate event. I was in the middle of texting a friend that I would not be available for awhile given the news and I just threw my phone. Little did I know he was in the way over, and he would stay with me for 7 days, watch my dog when I left, and made sure I ate every single day until the week I left for the service. He continued to make sure I still was creating and maintaining a positive outlook while giving me the space to feel the way I did. I still to this day appreciate him dearly and hope we are to reconnect in the future.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Mar and I’m a creative artist!
Creating art has always been something I’ve treated inviolably since I was 9. At this age I really came to terms of the person I wanted to become and the lifestyle i desired for myself. Creating videos and beats on YouTube and posting them at 1am in my closet was a normal to me. With maturing I’ve been able to collectively grasp and prioritize what I want to focus on creating and that’s music, fashion and personality. I’ve played violin, cello, flute, danced, photographed and produced and directed etc through my early years of school, and I was an athlete my late years of school which developed what discipline meant.
I know everyone has a dream and to become someone or achieve something important to them, but fall distracted or become comfortable with their normality, as for me I will never be comfortable unless I’m living in the reality I see for myself. I won’t stop until it’s achieved.
I’m most proud of my music career at the moment. It has taken me a lot to feel the way I do about myself in this day and age and the fact I’m able to vocally express that and release it to then public is a self indication for myself I’m in the path I need to be on. I’m also proud of my tiktok which I’ve grown to 80k followers and have been able to work with the CEO of Zillow, talk with realtor.com, lead marketing executives for celebrities and joined a campaign as the face for a new application coming to the App Store very soon !
I’ve also started a new project working on a magazine called COVURBOY Magazine and will be in full effect 2025. You can follow to stay updated on Instagram @ TheCovurboy

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building an audience on social isn’t hard when you’re authentically yourself and not trying to conform to certain stigmas and norms that people make it a mission to embed. Consistency, Authenticity, and creativity are my three filters when analyzing a project or concept I want to post. If it’s not even one of these three things it’s automatically scrapped. Trial and error has also been highly beneficial, and has taught me don’t be afraid to fail, because you will inevitably learn from you’re mistakes and it will eventually create a sedulous bearing.
You’re the only one that can make your dreams a reality, who are you waiting on ?

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative artist is when others recognize, and vocalize their love for your art and visions you create. This feeling is an amiable feeling that partially motivates me to continue making and executing my concepts.
