Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Manuel Gomez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Manuel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission is driven by a combination of factors, including my lived experience of being tossed around by broken systems, serving in the military, and spending time in prison. Despite these challenges, I overcame adversity and learned to see the light in life. Being a dad and a husband also motivates me to make a positive difference in the lives of others, as I strive to create a better world for my family.
I have a strong desire to prove that I don’t fit with a certain narrative or mold. I am determined to overcome obstacles and achieve success, no matter what others may think or say. My experience of accomplishing the impossible has given me the confidence and resilience to take on new challenges and make a difference in the lives of others.
My mission is driven by a deep sense of compassion, resilience, and a desire to make a positive difference in the world. I believe that everyone deserves a chance to heal and find meaning in their lives, no matter what challenges they may face. By sharing my own story and providing a compassionate and understanding ear, I can help others navigate these challenges and find their own path to wellness.

Manuel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As an aspiring therapist in training and peer support specialist for veterans, my journey to this career has been a serendipitous and accidental one. My personal experiences have prepared me for this role, and I am passionate about making a positive difference in the world.
I provide a range of services and support to individuals and communities. As a therapist in training, I work with individuals to help them address mental health and emotional wellness challenges. As a peer support specialist for veterans, I provide support and resources to help veterans navigate challenges related to mental health, substance use, and other issues.

I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for my clients, and I work collaboratively with them to develop a personalized plan for success.
I am also proof that the impossible can be accomplished. As a grad student at CSULB, I have overcome many obstacles to achieve my academic and career goals. I am proud to have been given a full ride to UCLA, which is a testament to my hard work and dedication.
For potential clients and followers, I want them to know that I understand the challenges they may be facing and that I am dedicated to helping them achieve their goals. Whether it is through therapy, peer support, or other resources, I am committed to providing the support and guidance needed to help individuals achieve success and overcome adversity.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned on my journey, it’s that resilience is a powerful force that can help us overcome even the greatest challenges. Life can be tough, and we will all face obstacles and adversity at some point. But it’s how we respond to those challenges that truly defines us.
My own experiences of being broken down and rebuilding myself have taught me that we all have the power to overcome adversity and achieve our goals. It takes courage, determination, and the support of others, but it is possible.
As an aspiring therapist and peer support specialist for veterans, I am passionate about helping others find the resilience they need to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. Whether it’s through therapy, peer support, or other resources, I believe that anyone can find the strength and resilience they need to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals.
If you’re facing challenges or adversity, know that you’re not alone. There are people who care about you and want to help you succeed. You have the power within you to overcome your challenges and achieve your goals. With the right support, guidance, and tools, you can rebuild yourself into a stronger, more resilient person.
Remember, resilience is not about never facing challenges or adversity. It’s about bouncing back from those challenges and coming out even stronger on the other side. So embrace your challenges, learn from them, and use them as an opportunity to grow and become the best version of yourself.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
In my work as a therapist in training and peer support specialist for veterans, I have come to understand the value of relationships. Building strong, supportive relationships with my clients is the foundation of my work, and it is one of the most important factors in helping them achieve their goals.
Strong relationships allow for open communication, trust, and collaboration. When my clients feel that they can trust and confide in me, they are more likely to share their challenges and work with me to find solutions. This creates a safe and supportive environment where my clients can grow and thrive.
Relationships are also essential for providing effective care and support. By building a relationship with my clients, I am able to understand their unique needs and provide personalized support that is tailored to their goals and circumstances.
Finally, relationships are crucial for building a strong reputation and growing my client base. When my clients have positive experiences with our work together, they are more likely to recommend me to others who may be in need of my services. This allows me to expand my reach and connect with new clients who may benefit from my support.
Overall, I believe that relationships are at the heart of my work as a therapist and peer support specialist. By building strong, supportive relationships with my clients, I am able to provide the compassionate, effective care that they need to achieve their goals and live their best lives.
