We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Manny Morales a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Manny, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

When I was a young boy. I would read books to escape reality, entering into another world through imagination. Shortly after I started creating my own world, one in which I had complete creative control.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hola readers my name is Manny Morales. I am an author, model and actor. I was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and have been in Florida for about 4 yrs now. What sets me apart from others is the fact that i don’t allow anything or anyone to stop my progress. I am able to multitask, completing different tasks while staying on task.
I am humble and very down to earth.
I am most proud of being an author. I love literacy and love the way I can use my words to build a world in other’s imaginations. I’m proud of being strong enough to be able to push through being an introvert and finally living my dream.

I want people to know that no matter what walk of life you come from you can make a difference and be successful. Success isn’t measure by the property you own or how many people know you. It is measured by how proud you make yourself and how motivated you continue to be as you perfect your craft.
In the world or modeling, you can’t compare yourself to other models, you have to believe and know you’re in a league all your own. Live in the moment and never let fear hold you back from showing your potential.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

In 2006 I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I was confused, scared, angry and defeated. I didn’t understand how this could happen to me. I asked my parents if we had a family history and they said no.
So after some research and soul searching i decided I would not let this beat me. I changed my diet and studied everything I could about colon cancer. I went to support groups and found a way back into a positive mindset.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Yes, I want people to enjoy my books. I want others to be inspired to write or model or act. I want others to find their passion and go for it no matter what it is. I have love for people and I want to see people around me succeed. That is my true happiness. When those you affect succeed that brings me so much joy.
