Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Manny Dixon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Manny, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The younger version of myself lacked confidence and didn’t believe in himself. Uncertain about life’s direction and unsure about the next steps to take, this personal struggle brings a spotlight to a repeated pattern amongst youth in today’s society. There comes a point of realization that nobody is coming to rescue you. The choice is in your hands to take charge, show up for yourself, and go above and beyond to pursue your dreams and goals. Support and encouragement from others may not be present until you’ve achieved success, so the life hack is to just make it happen by any means necessary.
Become an absolute BEAST, then learn how to tame it. As I transitioned from adolescence to young adulthood, a series of pivotal events became the catalyst for a transformative shift in my mindset. Constantly overlooked and walked over, I decided that it is only up to me to get 1% better each day. By the grace of God I have been able to build a solid foundation which is applied to every aspect of life.
One day while at a pool party in Houston a friend encouraged me to become a fitness trainer due to constantly being approached and inquiring about my workout routine. This overtime developed into becoming a life coach due to realizing it is more than fitness people struggle with, but mentality and overall poor lifestyle habits that has been picked up over the years. I realized the direction I wanted to go was helping others who faced similar struggles I had during my younger age. From there I narrowed down to highschool and college students aged 16-24 who struggle with self-confidence, strength, and direction in life.
Drawing on my background in technology consulting in the corporate world today I was able to transfer knowledge and develop an app to provide online coaching for young men across the world. The “Wolfpack” – a community of individuals who strive to become the absolute best version of themself in all aspects of life through mentality, fitness, and lifestyle habits. This also extends to setting goals, life reconstruction, self reflection, career readiness (resume building, LinkedIn profile revision), and overall developing a vicious mentality and desire to BE BETTER. By taking them from a place where I once was of self doubt to commanding any room they step in, I have created Wolves ready to take over anything they set their minds to.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
The Problem Child strives to be a “rebel to society” and encourages others to think for themselves. The brand illustrates breaking away from the matrix and creating their own wave and story. Society has conditioned people to follow the crowd through mediums such as tv, social media, and constant negative information. By shunning conventional norms and forging a unique path, the Problem Child not only established a distinctive brand but also cultivated a business poised to make a global impact in the coming years.
Embracing the sport of boxing during their college years, a resilient mindset emerged for Manny Dixon—one defined by the choice to either rise and fight or succumb and remain on the canvas. When in the ring even when life punches you in the mouth you have to keep going… you have to tell your mind what your body can not hear. Quitting is not an option. This principle extends far beyond the ring; it is a philosophy to be applied to every facet of life. The only limitations one faces are self-imposed, and the potential to achieve anything is boundless, restricted only by the confines of one’s own mind.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Tunnel Vision – You can’t let too many voices speak and ears listen to your vision. The vision you hold is a gift from God, unique and purposeful, and not everyone is meant to comprehend or support what you’re striving to achieve. The graveyard stands as the richest place on earth, marked by countless unfulfilled dreams.
These days I spend a lot of time alone working and building brick by brick. There is no need to be overly excited about your passion to be met with dimmed lights from others who was not given the vision you was responsible for seeing through. I understand the work that lies ahead, and I’m committed to seeing it through.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In life, resistance is inevitable. Failures and setbacks are part of the course, and rarely does everything unfold with the smoothness we envision. When confronted with adversity and trials, the key is to persist relentlessly for that breakthrough. Most people quit and give up after being told no, not having support by others, or faced immediate failure.
In order to achieve anything worth having it is going to take an extreme level of resilience and persistence. I reflect on the time I auditioned for a movie role and was rejected on the spot. This scenario repeated 4-5 times before I secured my first opportunity on the big screen. Now looking back, if I would have quit due to not achieving the goal of obtaining the role after the first few times, I would not have gone on to be apart of 11 films within a year including Paramount productions. Randomly I would be sent a photo of a scene I am in with a message of “No way you are in this movie.” My advice to anyone who is reading this is to never take 1 no as the end all be all. Keep trying, keep going with whatever it is. Do not ever give up on your dream and embrace the journey.
