We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mandy Dorr. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mandy below.
Alright, Mandy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry?
Corporate America often views luxury weddings as frivolous—an unnecessary expense, a vanity project, or an inefficient use of time and money. But that perspective completely misses the deeper purpose of these experiences. A thoughtfully designed wedding isn’t just a celebration; it’s a transformative moment for everyone involved.
Weddings are one of the few universally positive reasons people gather. They bring families and communities together—often reuniting loved ones who haven’t seen each other in years. In a world that moves fast and feels increasingly disconnected, these moments of reconnection are powerful. When the experience is crafted with care, intention, and beauty, it becomes more than just a party. It becomes a shared memory that renews relationships, strengthens bonds, and fills people up.
Guests leave not just entertained, but energized—more connected to each other, and more grounded in what matters. That’s the true return on investment. It’s not about extravagance for its own sake; it’s about designing experiences that nourish people and ripple outward, long after the music stops.

Mandy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Before incorporating Mandy Marie Events & Production, Mandy was creative director for a marketing sales organization launching major brands into the market.
In 2017, she traded in her corporate clients to serve couples & hosts with event designs that include thoughtful production, a refined yet relaxed residential style, and an immersive guest experience. Her portfolio has consistently drawn the attention of publications like Vogue, Brides, Over the Moon, and more.
Mandy provides a strategic vision for all Mandy Marie Events, supporting our principal luxury wedding event planners as they serve their clients through our tailored processes.
Mandy’s reputation for personalized designs and meticulous attention to detail is why Mandy Marie Events & Production is regularly found on “best of” and top exclusive event planner lists.
While Mandy loves talking event details, if you really want to see her light up, get her talking about the arts, red wine, or travel—and make sure she tells you about that one time she heliboarded (that’s snowboarding from a helicopter, yup.) in Courchevel, France.
While she lives primarily in Scottsdale, Mandy and her family enjoy spending time wake surfing and taking in the sun on the dock with friends, neighbors and family in Lake Pend Oreille.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Consistency is essential—but building a team that genuinely believes in the power of a luxury event experience has been the real game-changer. They lead with integrity, hold themselves to exceptional standards, and never cut corners.
If you ask our creative partners, they’ll probably say we’re some of the toughest people they work with. We’re meticulous, deeply detail-oriented, and relentless about getting it right. That level of care, delivered at every single event, is what’s built our reputation.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Invest in your people—not just financially, but emotionally and through continued education. Learn what fills their cup, and show up for them in ways that matter personally. That kind of support builds real loyalty, and they’ll show up for the brand when it counts.
Also, let them make mistakes—and have their back when they do. Some of the most powerful growth happens in those moments, and it’s how you build both trust and resilience as a team.
