Mandy , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Waking up everyday and deciding to entertain people is by far the biggest risk I’ve ever taken! It’d be easy for me to relax into a 9 to 5 routine. It’s harder, I think, to discipline yourself enough to show up and say, “What will I make today?”. I think a lot of creatives can relate to this… especially in the world of social media where EVERYTHING is exposed. You have to be a courageous person to stand in front of thousands of people – sometimes millions – and say, “This is me. Take me as I am or suck it.” I know this is my time to show my full authenticity and vulnerability in a way that scares me to death, but will benefit me beyond my wildest expectations
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Mandy Brooke (@MandyBrookeOfficial) and I’ve been lucky enough to gain a pretty large following on social media with my song parodies and weird antics! I’ve been working in entertainment my entire life. Up until recently, my career revolved around being a songwriter, artist, and vocalist. I lived in Nashville,TN for 11 years performing, singing jingles, recording voice overs, and pitching my music. I’ve experienced success in tv/film placements with FOX & USA Network and released a few projects you can hear on all streaming platforms. My love for acting and modeling began after I signed with a local Nashville agent in 2019, and started regularly booking work in commercials and indie films! But ironically, it wasn’t until I moved back home to New Smyrna Beach, FL when things REALLY began taking off in my career! After my marriage fell apart, I decided to put my creativity into social media and went viral for the first time in June of 2022 with a parody of Dua Lipa’s “Levitating”. I switched the words to, “I got ew, boob sweat, swamp ass -“, and hit 10 millions views within a couple months. Since then, things haven’t stopped! I love making content that people relate to… whether it’s about loving wine, or turning 30! I knew I was on the right path when TODAY with Hoda & Jenna featured my content twice. It’s been a surreal year, indeed!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My ultimate goal is to continue lifting the vibrations of the world through laughter and entertainment. I can’t tell you how many messages I’ve received from people telling me how my content helped them with their confidence, and lifted their spirits on bad days. What a freakin’ honor to help people in that way! I want to show people you can make miracles happen by being yourself and co-creating with the universe. God wants to know what you want, so shout it out to the world, and believe it’s yours!
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
We can help creatives by sharing their content and crediting them properly! If you love what someone is doing, TELL THEM! In the world of social media, it sometimes feels like I’m singing into a void. But when I receive messages, shares and love from others, I realize my creations actually matter! It means everything to me.
