We recently connected with Malyssa Heart and have shared our conversation below.
Malyssa , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
My creative path began well over a decade ago with photography. I was specifically drawn to photographing women, telling their stories visually, through creative writing, while holding a deeply loving space for their hearts. Most photographs focus on the happy milestones in life like engagement & weddings. I became fascinated with creating artistic spaces to emotionally express the more painful moments in life as well. Our grief is a direct result of how deeply we love. When there are sacred spaces for women to express themselves, it’s healing, it’s connecting, and it alchemizes the pain. We are all walking through these moments in life and often we feel alone. As an artist in all forms, I create connection, with self, the heart, soul, earth, and our community.

Malyssa , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a transformational healing artist. I create Mother Earth flower mandalas that hold and embody different frequencies that I want to bring into the ceremony. The sacred spaces I create provide an opportunity to open and heal our hearts. They include healing arts modalities that create a deep and present awareness. Sound Healing invites us on a long meditative journey. When we surrender to slowing down into our feminine nature, we connect with our emotions and intuitions.
This gives women the opportunity to shift out of old stories that are holding them back from fully shining their unique and radiant light into the world. What we think, our mindset, and our ability to keep our hearts open are what create our lives. We are here in this experience to learn, heal, & grow.
I am predominantly guided to work with groups of women in the form of sacred circle and ceremony. I moved from the peaceful mountains of Lake Tahoe into the busy city life in San Diego 5 years ago. This lead to a great deal of healing & transformation personally. I attended my first womens circle in search of healing, connection, & community. The theme was the mother wound. It was a large group and a beautifully facilitated ceremonial circle. It changed my life to step outside of my comfort zone and sit in circle with a large group of women where we shared about our relationships with our mothers.
My heart healed tremendously in that space and I opened to a new world of healing. A few months later I was receiving guidance to co create a circle with a most cherished sister of mine, Haley. We began holding circles together centered around the teachings of the rose.
This co creation supported me and allowed me to learn and grow in the modalities of healing & ceremony that most resonated with my heart.
Today I lead circles and day retreats centered around the teachings of the Rose, forgiveness, compassion, acceptance, unconditional love, and feminine empowerment. I create a luxurious and beautiful rose temple space, lush with beautiful soft linens and flower mandalas. The space creates a feminine energy that is felt the moment a woman approaches it, she is invited into her heart to feel what is alive for her. She is seen, heard, held, supported, inspired, and loved in the circle of women.
The codes of sisterhood change the world through uplifting the way women treat each other. The embodiment of the divine feminine is upheld in these circles as space is held for the shadows of the feminine as well. For without the dark we would have no light and in this space we have the opportunity to alchemize any old beliefs, patterns, stories, pains, fears back into empowerment & unconditional love.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to create these sacred circles for women to rise into their most loving, radiant, empowered selves while feeling the love and support of sisterhood. Sisterhood is a form of unconditional love & support. It is divine feminine embodiment where we are aware of our shadowy behaviors like jealousy or competition and choose through our awareness to be happy and inspired by another woman. It is taking personal responsibility for our triggers and doing the inner work to embody love. It’s walking our talk. It’s wanting the best for every woman. It’s holding space for each other and not resonating in judgement or comparison. It’s the mentality that we all rise together and that in community we are powerfully supported to grow into the next version of ourselves. The version that uplifts humanity and cares for Mother Earth through our frequency.
In the circles I host I am mindful of space to go into grief and fears then lift into healing, love, and inspiration.
We all have the opportunity to step into our truths and power in these spaces. As we each carry medicine, wisdom, and beauty.
In circle we become One, no separation, no comparison, a safe space to feel what comes up and choose Love.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a transformational healing artist is being connected to my channel, where I receive messages, signs, and guidance on what to create. I spend time in stillness listening. I am gifted the opportunity to create something meaningful and unique for the women to experience. I get to witness the depth of emotions and the beauty of feeling them vulnerably in a group setting. The circles are curated with healing arts modalities that take the women on a journey into their bodies, hearts, & souls.
We sing together, receive a flower tea from Mother Earth, meditate, journal, move our bodies and breath, connect 1:1 through creative partner work, connect through group exercises, experience temple healing where we give and receive through our love languages, enjoy sound healing for rest and integration and delicious organic nourishment.
To see the sparkle of light in each woman’s eyes and aura, to feel their hearts open, connect, and heal is the most rewarding part of my healing artist journey.
