Mallory, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
A defining in my career would be working with children as a dance teacher. Working with children I have learned patience and how to work with different personalities. Also being able to gain trust and unlock their creativity has been such a beautiful sight to see. Teaching them life lessons in a creative fun way is definitely something I enjoy.
Mallory, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I just began my bead jewelry business called Malz Makez. I provide waist beads, anklets , rings and necklaces. The goal of my jewelry is to make you feel like you beautiful and confident while unlocking your creativity at the same time. What sets me apart from others is my originality. The designs I make up are homemade and my own ideas. I am proud of seeing how happy people are when they wear my products. It’s so fulfilling seeing my creations come to life. I’m grateful to have this gift to create something wonderful.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson that I had to unlearn was just being un patient with people and giving them grace. The backstory is growing up I wasn’t a fast learner. So now that I’m a teacher I like to be patient with people because I know how it felt when people weren’t patient with me. I want people to feel comfortable and not unwanted around me.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back I would still choose dance but I would also study fashion design as well. I’ve always loved fashion and how things look when they came together.
