We recently connected with Malloree Lingerfelt and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Malloree, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

So, weird actually. It took me forever to come up with my business name, I was talking to one of my closest friends asking for help and she asked me what do you like, and I told her, “well I really like the moon and pastel colors.” So she told me to use that and see what I could come up with. It took me a while and I settled with Pastel Moon Photography, I also searched hours to make sure my business name was unique and no one else had it. So that’s the story behind Pastel Moon Photography!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

So, getting started wasn’t easy, I did a TON of free photoshoots, and most of them were my friends, they always tagged me in their photos to hopefully bring in new clients. Lots of free shoots later I would eventually get my first real shoot with someone I didn’t know. Business was very slow at first and very stressful, I felt like I would be posting on Instagram or Facebook for nothing, until just recently about 2 years ago my business sky rocketed, and I am forever thankful that. I provide a variety of services, some which include… weddings, couples, engagement, lifestyle milestones, mystic falls, you name it I most likely offer it. One thing I would like people to know is I take my time with everything I do, weather it be making sure your comfortable, to spending 20 mins getting the perfect shot. I truly value my relationships and want nothing but the best and for you to love your photos.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Honestly, just posting very consistently with what ever social media platform you like to use, weather it be TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The messages and calls I get from my clients telling me how much they love their photos, or even them posting on their social media platforms tagging me.
