We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Malky Allouch. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Malky below.
Hi Malky, thanks for joining us today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. So, we’d appreciate if you could open up about your growth story and the nitty, gritty details that went into scaling up.
One day, I had enough of playing victim. I was a year postpartum and hadn’t worked in a hot second.
I had experienced postpartum depression and it was really difficult to break out of.
My husband was in school to become a doctor at the time.
We needed the money and I knew I had to make a change.
I was scared but I was determined. I literally started from ground zero at $0.
I was already a great writer and had learned copywriting techniques in the past.
Every day I left the house. I sent out cold pitches, honed my process, and crafted my offers. I preserved. I changed my mindset from freelancer to CEO.
Some nights I worked until midnight, once my son was asleep.
But above all was a solid resolution that I WILL and must succeed.
A year later, I have a thriving business with happy repeat customers and new clients increasing by the day.
Being a creative is in my blood and it’s mindblowing to be able to use words to make a living.
I niched down in social media copy along with website copy on the side. Quite literally creating words that sell for brands.

Malky, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Ever since I can remember, I was a rebel, with a deeply sensitive soul.
In high school, writing was my refuge. It was the only thing that understood me without judgment.
Creativity flowed in my blood since day one.
As such, I was always the designated family member in charge of creating videos, writing press releases, and for marketing advice.
A few years later, a friend mentioned that she was a copywriter. I had never heard about it before and was intrigued.
The rest was history.
Now, I help brands turn social media into a sales machine—through words.
1. Social media strategy session = A strategy session to create a laser-focused and cohesive plan for your brand.
2. Social media management = Complete social media management to grow your brand. (Optional professional videography and graphic design)
3. Website copywriting = As a 24-7 salesman for your brand, I make it a pretty darn good one.
4. Ad copywriting = Few words, powerful message.
I’ve always been myself. It’s taken me to where I am today. It’s an essential part of my brand.
Soulful Copy is bold, raw, and reflective. I hope to inspire others to do the same. To always embody soul.
Fads and superficiality fade. Choosing long-term fulfillment and goodness makes you a winner, not superficial metrics.
We all die one day. Focus on what truly matters.
In the same grain, I’m in it to win it with my clients. I see their insane potential and light, and I’m here to make waves with them.
Social media has the power to take your message and amplify it to the world. I mean, how insane is that?!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Ever since I was a child it was always ingrained in me to ask for other people’s approval or permission before doing anything.
The older I get, the more I say “screw that’. Everyone has their own biases, fears, and judgments.
Learn to trust your inner voice and lead without asking for permission. You know more than you know.
For a long duration of my life, I was scared of my own shadow. As time went on, I was forced to evolve and step into my power.
I now realize I always have a choice. It’s up to me to decide how I want to show up.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Be a good human, that’s it. With no other motives.
I’ve had many leads come back to me because they saw I genuinely wanted to help them with zero other motives.
Most of my clients now come from interactions like the above. And then they refer me to other people, too.
If I can do someone a favor and help them out, I do it.
If I feel like someone else is a better fit, I tell them.
If they can’t afford me, I empathize with them and try to help in the capacity that I could,
Be a good human. That’s about it.
