Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Malik Taylor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Malik, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
It takes dedication, perseverance, failure and lots of it. Pain and failure builds character. Prepares you for success because anything worth having is not easy. If it were everyone would have it. You have to be willing to do what others won’t today so you can do what they can’t tomorrow. You have to want whatever it is that you define as success more then you wanna breath.

Malik, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started rapping at an early age but started recording worthy music in an actual studio ( and not my closet) at 22. I’ve accumulated 5 million streams since then and have a pretty solid fan base. My music has so much conviction you can listen and feel what I say whether you lived that same type of life and can relate or not. You can close your eyes and feel it. Picture it. My music is powerful. I’m most proud of my upcoming album “Glasshouse” dropping September 13th, 2022 it will most definitely be one of those repeatable projects and have listeners starting songs over.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think my biggest step was when I decided I wanted control my own narrative. I had been fired from my then job and was kinda low so I went online bought 3,000 business cards and for three months I stood outside stores and shops, passing them out day after day for hours and hours gaining followers, fans & supporters. Even when they didn’t like rap music they respected my grind.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being genuine. Being realistic. Every song isn’t how the people where I was at was making. I make aggressive music too but I also tell stories. Powerful stories. Painful stories. Personal stories. People relate to that. Even when they don’t. People love to hear another persons pain. It’s human nature.
