Malia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?

First off, let me just say that social media is constantly changing & the latest trends I find to be impactful right now are reels on instagram along with the new gif feature that they now have when users comment. I also love how Instagram is targeting their focus back to photos too!

TikTok is all the rage. I love their carousel feature they added giving creators a chance to express themselves & share content through imagery along with creating fun & trending videos.

My name is Malia Good owner of Good Girl Social Media! I am a social media manager & content strategist who assists brands with boosting their engagement & expanding their audience through their social media channels.

I began my social media journey in college as an intern. After I graduated from the University of Houston, I began working with various industries like beauty, agriculture, & nonprofits.

I am also multifacet in email marketing, affiliate marketing, event marketing, and website development. My goal is to convert customer engagement into sales increasing company profit.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

Being able to work with different brands & creating engaging content that converts their leads to sales. I enjoy making my clients feel like a success.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

Absolutely! Social media changes all the time. Every platform is always coming out with new features that can alter the algorithm, so sometimes I have to rework my social media strategies when my content plan is no longer showing results to the companies social media presence.
