We recently connected with Malcolm Hudson and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Malcolm thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Entertaining people has been an honor for me. Our gifts in this field are unique because the talent is yours, but it’s meant to be shared. Since the first time as a child (I performed Achy Breaky Heart for 300 people at age 6)I found that you can make a memory last in someone’s life from providing entertainment, I was completely addicted. Performances aside, I also found that I enjoy helping others artists achieve this goal and share their gifts as well so I wanted to be the creative outlet they needed to share their talents as well
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Talent can be something you are born with, but can be greatly sharpened with training. I was blessed enough to be very well trained in music. SMU provided a sharp structure to Vocal Performance. (My Major). I’m also well versed in piano. During a tour in Korea, through my military career USAF, I found another producer who had turned his dorm into a studio, and we wrote songs and he showed me how to get my own setup. From that point, I was a freelance producer and Entertainer. Whatever you need from the front of the stage ir behind the scenes, I wanted to be polished and reliable
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Making the memory. Helping others share their gift to entertain and MakeThe Memory. Be it 1 or 100000 people, you can gift them with something that they can reflect on and smile about forever.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My fans have been built mostly on word of mouth. I use Social Media much more often, but prior to Covid, I was making music and performing/producing as a side hustle. When my alt business took a major blow, I picked up work hosting Karaoke shows at a local Bar. Liked it so much, started playing music and developed into a full DJ. Then the artists and opportunities came. Private shows, live gigs, and new artist pickups come because of the hosting/DJ work I do in Rockwall. My standing Friday night show there is now simply a good time. They came to be entertained and I haven’t looked back since
