Malcolm, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?

The beginning of Fandoms Anonymous is a bit hazy as it was a phoenix rising from the ashes story. I used to belong to a previous organization near the same format as Fandoms Anonymous and due to creative differences I decided to go my own way. I started and hit the ground running by releasing all types of content and it was so amazing in the beginning. It began to evolve over time. I went from just talking about comics and movies to writing articles for online publications, to interviewing major celebrities for a national traveling convention. Now we are in a space where we are covering concerts and being a part of our local music scene in our city. I said all that to say when it comes to taking an idea and then executing, it comes to a point where I look at an opportunity and I compare it to what we have done before. In this space of media it is a guarantee that there will be one job that is similar to a job you did last week or even last year. We take that knowledge and experience and merge it into that new task and we take those skills and get the job done. For example, we have done countless comic book conventions but when asked to cover a entire music concert we had to brainstorm. We normally get coverage of the people and the sights and a few interviews but now we have to incorporate video of the performers, the people attending and more. All of this is what it takes in the every day mechanics of working this organization.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Fandoms Anonymous is a multi-faceted organization that prides ourselves in bringing a multitude of media solutions to everyday people and organizations. We cover events big and small whether it be concerts, balls, conventions and more. What sets us apart is that we bring a sense of fun and urgency to any thing we do. We keep the envorontment hype and engaged and make sure we are ensuring that people are having a great time. One of the major things that I am proud of is our work in our local community. We have become a voice for the people. We are the ones on the scene at as many community events as we can so that we can show the city whats going on and also how they can participate as well!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Recently during moving to a new home all of our equipment was stolen. This was years of collected video technology and accessories that we owned. I made an announcement that we would be down for awhile and people came out of nowhere willing to donate to help us re-coup our lost items. Within a week we were back on our feet. That just goes to show you that when you are truly in something for the right reasons you will stay blessed!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I had to unlearn that everybody should like my content. I had this feeling at one point that if i post it I should be getting views. If I make content then everyone should like it. It took me a minute to get myself to realize that the type of content that I post is not for everybody and that I should celebrate those who support me. This is something that you can abide by no matter what type of business or industry you are in. Everything you do or say will not appease everyone. It is more about how much heart are you putting into it and what are your reasons behind it. If you are doing what you do for likes and adoration so be it there is nothing wrong with that, but if your goal is to make a difference then that is what will always shine at the end of the day.
