Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Malak Osli. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Malak , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I learned to do what I do now by studying the greats before me and making success out of their blueprint. Knowing what I know now I would just be my authentic self 100%, no outside influences. Giving my energy to the wrong things and people has hindered me in the past and it took separating myself from things that no longer serve me to see it was the best possible outcome for growth and success.
Malak , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Malak Osli is a Trap RnB artist driven by an unshakable dedication to his music. After relocating to a new state with just a dream and the support of his mother, Malak pushed through adversity, biking 10 miles daily to work and college while still pursuing his passion for creating music. Now, he’s making waves in the Nashville music scene, collaborating with a variety of producers and artists, and steadily building a remarkable portfolio. His current feature rate for songs is $150.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Doing what you love with no care in the world. Just the ability to be able to express yourself musically is rewarding enough for me, if everyone else enjoys what I create that’s cool too.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to Unlearn that everyone is happy for your success. In my 24 years of age I’ve come to release not everyone will be enthusiastic about your blessings especially when you are doing better than them. Certain people will cheer you on when your growth is stagnant, it makes them feel you are similar and they are superior that way, but when you out grow them they feel threatened or offended as the sudden urge to say how dare you rises. What I learned is people are always gonna have something to save wether good or bad don’t let it get to you so much other peoples opinions don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.
