We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Makayla Miller a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Makayla thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Consistency and dedication. i think everyone has their own personalized idea of success, and no matter what it is, you need those two to achieve it. My idea of success is simply progressing from where l started. Really focusing on yourself, your work, and your growth is how you reach success

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into the industry in high school when I decided to take an audio video tech class my senior year. From there, I fell in love with all things digital and media. I am now a production assistant at a very reputable news station here in Atlanta all while continuing my freelance photography business. I think my style changes as time goes on, which I really like because it shows the growth within not me an artist but as a person. What I’m most proud of is my ability to be personable with anyone l work with.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
l think the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is creating and capturing a moment in time for people. The best part of my creative process is sending final edits to a client and receiving positive feedback. We don’t get these moments and years back, there’s only one chance at it all. So just being in the moment and creating something that they can look back on and “remember when” with is the best part of I do.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I think NFTs are the future. I can admit they are very intimidating because I haven’t fully figured them out yet, but they are a sign of the times. It’s one of those things where you either get on board or get left behind. NFTs are definitely just a snippet into the direction the world is headed in, so I’m excited to see what’s next.
