Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Majorie Dorismond . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Majorie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
It takes Determination, Consistency & Never give up that makes Us successful. Putting in that work and believing in whatever it is God placed in your heart to do. Even when things get hard, don’t start doubting yourself, it’s gone be okay. Just keep pushing, try different ways to get results.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who don’t know me. I am Majorie Dorismond a.k.a Maj D. Actress, Author and C.E.O of #SpeakFreely the Brand. I’m a Haitian American Woman from Miami, Florida. Both of my parents are from Haiti.
This past year has been really hard for me. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer which resulted in a double mastectomy on May 30th 2023. Weeks later my father passed away in Florida while I was recovering here alone in Atlanta.
I’ve decided over the past year to live life as if it’s my last. I don’t know if this was Gods way of telling me to open up my eyes, enjoy my life and stop overworking myself but I’m finally living my best life. I approach life differently now. To those who are battling any type of Cancer, keep your faith, don’t give up, I Pray you all make it through.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Honestly, just going out there being myself. I’m an “in person” type of person. I love to go out and sell my own merchandise so people can get the authentic Maj. I enjoy meeting and talking to people. I’m definitely a people’s person, so talking to any and everybody is easy for me.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I remember when I first stepped out to promote my #SpeakFreely the Brand clothing line. I walked into a beauty salon on Peter’s Street in downtown, Atlanta where an elderly lady said to me, “how can you walk in here to sell us your clothing line that you don’t even wear yourself?” She then said, what’s going to make us want to wear it? I told her I just moved here from Miami, Fl and don’t have much. The lady instructed me to take one of those shirts and wear it each day you come out to hustle, and promote yourself. Since that day in 2018, I proudly wear and promote my brand. I would like to find that kind lady and thank her personally.
