Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Major Wednesday. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Major thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I knew I wanted to be an entertainer for sure when I saw Michael Jackson perform for the first time. I was watching his 30th anniversary special on television. I just remember how excited my mom, and family members were just seeing him. Then watching the master at work I understood the hype. I saw in him what or whom I wanted to be. He was different, and made no apologies for it. He was a man in control, and a true original. The greatest entertainer that ever lived.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Major Wednesday. I was born & raised in Baltimore, MD. I’m an artist/entertainer in short. I mostly write & produce my own music among other things. I love working on all sorts of creative projects. I like writing stories and performing. No greater high than that! My music is best described as an epic dark fantasy. Gothic Pop if you will. I’m still trying new things, and experimenting with my sound, but I do enjoy electronic styled music. Depends on my mood really.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Hearing or witnessing your finished product is such a thrill. Having your thoughts, and ideas made a reality is a blessing. A dream came true. I also love seeing people that enjoy and resonate with my material. It’s gratifying already, but to have an audience love what you do, and bringing joy to the masses is even better.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I think at the very least people should be more curious. Don’t be so complacient with hot 100 songs on the billboard charts or social media. Find things that ignite your soul. Explore your local record & book stores. Check out local shows, and performances. Even when abroad. I encourage everyone to step outside their comfort zone once in awhile.
