We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Color Analyst & Personal Stylist Maja Koziara a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Maja, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The core mission and vision of my brand are centered around assisting my clients in discovering not only their most flattering colors but also in finding their true selves. Color analysis is more than just about colors; it’s a voyage of self-discovery and embarking on a fresh journey. I welcome YOU to join me on this expedition. The ultimate aim of my brand is to empower my clients to feel confident as they select pieces that resonate with their inner strength.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Maja Koziara and I am a Color Analyst & Personal Stylist based in Houston, Texas. I am the owner of the brand ByMaja Fashion Services and I offer personal shopping, color analysis and wardrobe consultations.
Since I was a kid, I’ve always been into fashion. When I went to graduate school in Poland, I joined a fashion school and that’s where I got even more interested in this field. After I finished college, I took a professional job at a corporation. The job helped me make money, but I still really wanted to work in fashion. So, I decided to become a personal stylist during my free time. I helped people choose clothes they liked, figure out what colors looked good on them, talked to them about their clothes, and even helped style them for photos.
I’ve been in the US for almost two years now, along with my husband, and I’m excited to keep pursuing my passion by working with clients here. Adjusting to life in the US, especially with a different cultural background and English as my second language, took me a bit of time, but I managed to succeed!
The adventure of launching my very own business kicked off in San Antonio, our first stop on the move.
Currently, we live in Houston and I’m excited for the opportunity to work with the clients in this big city. I work as a personal stylist and color analyst with individual clients, fashion brands and business owners. As a European, I have a different approach to fashion and I think that I can bring great value to my clients. They can use my suggestions and see their outfits and styles from a different perspective.
What sets me apart from others is my positive energy and attitude. I also love beautiful things and I really focus on aesthetics. When I’m on a project, I go all in, giving it my full 110%.
The thing I am most proud of is that despite the fact that I am in a foreign country, I still follow my passion and I pursue my dreams. I took a risk and launched my own business here in the US. I’m wide open to new opportunities and projects, eagerly awaiting what the future brings!

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building an audience on social media requires a consistent effort and engagement. When I started my business here in the US, I really worked hard on my social media. I think the most important part of getting more followers is to stay in touch with the people who follow you and tell them a lot about what your business does. I really enjoy showing my audience what I do as a color analyst. People who follow me enjoy seeing how I guide my clients through the whole process of discovering their color palette, step by step. This helps them understand what I do and what clients get from working with me. I also like sharing actual examples that can help my followers. Tips about fashion and colors are very popular on my profile. This way, my followers can learn from what I share and use it in their own lives, whether they’re my clients or not!
What’s really great and matters a lot, in my opinion, is to show to your audience more about you as the person behind the brand. Your followers enjoy watching your stories, so invite them into your everyday life and let them see what you’re up to.
For those just starting to build a social media presence I would suggest finding out exactly who your intended audience is and what specific topic you want to talk about. Learn about what they like, what they want, and what problems they have. This will keep you connected and involved with the people who follow you. Try to create interesting and helpful content that your audience likes. This might mean useful posts, fun videos, motivating quotes, and other things. Moreover, making a plan to post regularly is super important. When you’re consistent, your audience stays interested and remembers you better.
Last, but not least – tell your followers useful advice, tips, and ideas about what you’re into. Show that you know a lot about your topic. Also, think about using different social media sites if it fits your audience. This way, you can reach more people.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Most of what I do is meeting and working with my clients face-to-face. This way, they can get to know me and my personality. I believe it’s super important to build trust with my clients. As a business owner, what matters most to me is giving each client a unique and personal experience. I enjoy listening to their stories, understanding their goals, and finding out what changes they want to make in their appearance after finding their Best Colors. When I see my clients looking radiant and feeling confident, that’s my greatest reward and a huge satisfaction!
When clients book a color analysis session with me, they experience a cozy vibe, lots of helpful advice, and a bunch of fun!
I believe what made my name known in my field is my special way of doing things, and the fact that my clients can use what they learn from me right away. I also believe the best way I’ve grown my business is through word of mouth recommendations from my happy clients. I think about 70% or more of my clients found my business this way.
