We were lucky to catch up with MAI TY recently and have shared our conversation below.

MAI , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?

I earned my first dollar as a creative in 2021 when I released my song titled “MAI TY – Options (feat. BIGBABYGUCCI.)” I still earn royalties from that particular track to this day.

MAI , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My stage name is “MAI TY” and I got into the music industry in 2021. I started creating music for fun, but I knew I wanted to turn it into a business. I learned the game and started to develop a business plan in order for me to succeed, and eventually things started to take off for me. I’m extremely proud of how far I’ve come as a musician and I’m extremely proud of the connections I’ve made in the industry. I recently collaborated with the artist known as “24hrs.”

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

My advice to anyone trying to grow on social media is to be consistent and to never give up. If you’re good to your fans, they’ll be good to you.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

The best thing that society can do for musicians is to share their music and support them on social media. Period.
