We recently connected with Mahara Wayman and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Mahara, thanks for joining us today. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
# The Kindest Thing Anyone Has Done For Me
The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me is to truly believe in me. My parents raised me with the unwavering conviction that I could accomplish anything I set my mind to. This foundation of confidence shaped who I became.
This gift continued throughout my professional life. An early boss, David Peak, offered me the rare opportunity to lead and learn without the fear of judgment, creating a safe space for growth and development.
More recently, another supervisor demonstrated her faith in me by explicitly inviting me to question her instructions whenever they weren’t clear. This level of respect and trust empowered me to bring my authentic self to work and contribute my best thinking.
These people didn’t just say they believed in me—they demonstrated it through their actions, creating environments where I could thrive, make mistakes, and ultimately succeed.
Mahara, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Sometimes the most profound truths emerge from the simplest beginnings. What started as a catchy business name – “Mindfulness With Mahara” – evolved into a powerful testament to the transformative power of presence.
My journey began with meditation and a deep appreciation for mindfulness practices. Then came the pivotal moment – writing “Essential Insights to Living Your Best Life.” The words flowed effortlessly, a divine download that filled page after page. But publishing? That’s when the real practice began. Sitting with paralyzing fear, finger hovering over the publish button, I learned my first profound lesson about presence.
The coaching business brought its own challenges. Behind the polished website lay countless tears, pivots, and moments of self-doubt. Yet each struggle reinforced the core truth – success wasn’t about avoiding discomfort, but about staying present through it all.
Then The Art of Badassery podcast emerged, another divine gift, but this time different. No fear, no hesitation – just pure flow. Years of practicing presence had transformed how I met new opportunities. Through interviewing countless guests and witnessing my clients’ journeys, a pattern emerged: true badassery wasn’t about fearlessness. It was about the ability to stay present with whatever arose, whether triumph or tribulation.
I chased personal development like it was a sport—collecting coaching certifications and spiritual trainings, thinking the next one would finally make me feel “enough.”
But instead of peace, I found myself stuck on the same damn loop: burning out, overthinking, overgiving. Torn between the life I built and the life I actually wanted.
My breakthrough didn’t come from silencing my inner critic—it came from listening to her.
She wasn’t my enemy. She was a protector with broken instructions.
And that fierce, intuitive part of me I was taught to tame? She was the very source of my next evolution.
That’s how my new mini mastermind, TheTrinity Transformation™ was born. Not from theory. From lived experience.
This isn’t about fluffy affirmations or surface-level “empowerment.”
It’s a soul-deep shift. A complete energetic and emotional recalibration that reconnects you with your Shadow Queen, heals your Inner Critic, and activates your Divine Guide.
And it works—because it’s built to meet you where you actually are. I am very proud of this program!
What began as clever alliteration has become a living philosophy: when mindfulness meets badassery, transformation happens. In staying present with fear, joy, confusion, and clarity, we discover our true superpower – the courage to remain engaged with life in all its messy, beautiful complexity.
Life has a way of bringing everything full circle. That simple business name? It wasn’t just clever marketing – it was a preview of the deeper truth waiting to be discovered: presence isn’t just a practice, it’s the path to becoming unstoppable.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
# Pivoting from Corporate to Success Alchemist
When COVID hit, I made the life-changing decision to leave my corporate career behind. What started as a scary leap of faith became the foundation of “Mindfulness With Mahara” – my coaching business focused on transforming feminine power into profitable purpose.
Those early entrepreneurial years weren’t easy. I invested in countless courses, experimented constantly, and weathered my fair share of failures. My business model evolved through several major pivots as I refined my unique approach – what eventually became my BADASS methodology for helping women transmute fears into fuel for growth.
The journey led me to launch two podcasts, publish a book on essential life insights, develop group and 1:1 coaching programs, and eventually become a high-performance coach with Growth. Each pivot taught me something valuable about myself and my clients.
Through all the uncertainty, I discovered that true alchemy happens when we blend ambition with ancient wisdom, business metrics with spiritual ceremonies, and practical planning with intuitive flow. The greatest pivot wasn’t just changing careers – it was embracing a whole new way of seeing business and success.
How did you build your audience on social media?
The key insight I discovered about social media is right in the name – it requires you to be **social**. This was a significant lesson for me on my entrepreneurial journey.
My success across various platforms came through two fundamental principles:
1. Consistency – Showing up regularly and reliably built trust with my audience
2. Authenticity – Being genuinely myself rather than presenting a polished facade
My most effective content has been straightforward videos where I speak candidly, addressing my clients’ actual questions and concerns. This approach resonates because it demonstrates real expertise while creating genuine connection.
I’ve also learned to use platforms strategically according to their unique strengths. For instance, I leverage Pinterest primarily as a search engine rather than a traditional social network, understanding its distinct role in my marketing ecosystem.
Another powerful strategy has been active collaboration with fellow digital creators. These partnerships expand my reach while creating valuable connections within my industry.
The common thread through all these approaches is genuine human interaction. Social media isn’t just about broadcasting messages – it’s about creating meaningful conversations and relationships that ultimately drive business growth.
