We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Title: Embracing Inner Growth: My Journey of Building Write and Shine Media House from Scratch
Four years ago, amidst the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic and as a single mom struggling to make ends meet, I embarked on a journey that would change my life forever: I started Write and Shine Media House. With no website, no funds, and very little support, I ventured into the unknown armed only with my story and the belief in the power of storytelling.
Looking back, I had no idea what to expect. The road ahead seemed daunting, filled with uncertainty and challenges at every turn. Yet, little did I know that the biggest growth would happen within me.
One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned on this journey is the importance of unlearning. For so long, I had been trying to prove my worth to others, seeking validation and approval from those who wanted to work with me. But beneath that desire lay a deep-rooted belief of unworthiness, a feeling that I wasn’t deserving of success or recognition.
It took time, patience, and a lot of soul-searching to realize that my worthiness isn’t determined by external validation. It comes from within, from the courage to stand tall in my truth and embrace my journey, scars and all.
As I let go of the need to prove myself, something remarkable happened: I began to attract the right people and opportunities into my life. Clients who resonated with my authenticity and vision, collaborators who shared my passion for storytelling, and a community of dreamers and doers who uplifted and supported me every step of the way.
Through the ups and downs, the triumphs and setbacks, I’ve come to understand that true success isn’t measured by external achievements, but by the growth and transformation that happens within. It’s about embracing the journey, embracing the challenges, and embracing ourselves fully, flaws and all.
So here’s to embracing inner growth, to letting go of the need to prove our worth, and to shining brightly in our own unique way.
