We were lucky to catch up with Magician On Duty recently and have shared our conversation below.
Magician , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
It was a couple of years after I moved to Miami. I started going out and exploring Miami’s nightlife. At first I started blogging about electronic music parties, only to realize later on that I wanted this to become more.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
Q: how you got into your industry / business / discipline / craft A: I started attending parties in Miami and fell in love with the scene, then started blogging about it, only to realize that I want more from it.
Q:what type of products/services/creative works you provide?
A. I run a boutique underground electronic music record label, where I publish & promote up and coming talent from all around the world within the underground electronic music umbrella. Genres such as downtempo, electronica, organic house, melodic techno and indie dance.
Q: what problems you solve for your clients?
A: Magician On Duty provides a whimsical platform for artists to freely showcase their passion for music.
This approach perfectly summarises the intention of Magician On Duty to usher and uplift new or established artists to a new musical and spatial setting, through a universal sound, one that can absorb a place in everyone’s heart.
Q: what you think sets you apart from others?
A: The ability to tell a story. From graphic design, to press releases that includes only poetry. My platform allows for people to completely be immersed in a world of wonder. This is fueled by whimsical music releases and podcasts. Every single detail tells a story.
Q:What are you most proud of?
A: Providing a platform for artists to flourish, learn and grow in the music industry and not only.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
It’s a great technology that will help speed up the recognition of creatives, and maybe usher a new era of digital artistic renaissance.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I think one of the most underrated resource that is available out there is to collaborate with other creatives. Magic happens when more people come together to create something.
