We recently connected with Magge Nunez and have shared our conversation below.
Magge, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I think as a creative and entrepreneur, you have to be willing to take risks to grow. This journey for me has definitely been one that I never imagined but in order to keep going I trust the community the supports me, the mission I carry, and the talent I own.
Magge, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into djing as a hobby during the pandemic. I saw a youtube video that mentioned how to teach yourself. I slowly got invested, did a gig at the school I worked at, and everything just really grew from there.
I had a coworker who posted me djing and later I ended up booking a wedding.
I will forever be grateful for my friends who have supported me from day one.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
As a DJ we get booked to do a variety of events, it can be from public, to private, to commercial, etc. The beautiful concept of it all is that we carry such power because our clients are sharing of their most precious moments with us. I remember this family ended up booking me for their grand opening for their salon, and it warmed my heart to see everyone in community all in support for the loved ones, especially their mom. To me that was such a very special moment to understand the power we carry.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal from the start is empower women and create safe spaces for them. Nightlife is not always friendly to women or queer women so I make it known from the start that if they book me who I am as an individual and who I represent.
