We recently connected with Magdalena Holzmueller and have shared our conversation below.
Magdalena , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you as a business owner?
One of the most important lessons I learned in a job that has shaped me as a business owner was when I was working in a Human Resources department. It was a high-pressure role where I had to persuade top candidates for management positions to choose our company over other competitive offers. The experience taught me that business success—whether in HR or running my own health and wellness company—is not just about what you offer but how you connect with people and make them feel heard and valued.
This experience taught me that people don’t just buy products or services—they buy relationships, trust, and the feeling of being cared for. That same principle has shaped how I run my health and wellness business today. Whether I’m working with individual clients, leading yoga classes, or organizing retreats, I focus on building genuine human connections. I listen deeply, personalize my approach, and go the extra mile to make people feel supported in their journey toward health and well-being.
The key takeaway: No matter what business you’re in, your success is rooted in how well you serve and connect with people. When people feel listened to, respected, and valued, they are more likely to trust you, invest in your services, and become loyal advocates for your brand.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
How I Got Into My Business & The Services I Provide:
I have always been passionate about health and well-being. I come from a family that has always prioritized healthy living, natural remedies, and preventive care, believing that preventive medicine is the best medicine. My mom has always been the naturopath in our family, teaching me how to use natural products and make healthy lifestyle choices to promote healing and prevent disease.
However, as I got older and was swept up in the fast-paced, often unhealthy lifestyle of our modern world, I faced my own health challenges. It was during this time that I realized just how important it is to take care of ourselves and return to the basics of holistic wellness.
Although I pursued a degree in Human Resources and Psychology and spent many years working in corporate environments, I ultimately felt called to follow my heart and true passion. I decided to obtain certifications in Health Coaching and Herbalism, with the mission of first helping myself and my family regain balance—and then guiding others on their journey to lasting health and well-being.
In addition to my work as a Health Coach and Herbalist, I have also been a Yoga Teacher for years, even while working in corporate settings. I have seen firsthand how movement, breathwork, and mindfulness can help people reduce stress, reconnect with their bodies, and restore balance—which is why I incorporate yoga as a key part of my offerings.
Additionally to Health Counseling, I provide Movement Therapy in the form of:
Group Yoga Classes – For moms looking to reduce stress and reconnect with themselves in a supportive, community-focused setting.
Private Yoga Sessions – Tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, whether they’re looking for relaxation, pain relief, or a deeper mind-body connection.
Corporate Yoga & Wellness Programs – Designed for busy professionals who need a break from stress and burnout, promoting well-being and productivity in the workplace.
I strongly believe that yoga is one of the best forms of movement therapy, helping to balance the nervous system, improve mental clarity, and enhance overall health. Combined with Coaching and other Ayurvedic treatments, it creates a holistic approach to healing and personal growth.
What Problems I Solve & How I Help My Clients:
Many people struggle with stress, poor lifestyle habits, and chronic health concerns (Insomnia, IBS, Migraines, Hormonal Imbalances, Arthritis, Diabetes – you name it), often feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start when it comes to making lasting changes. I help individuals and families take control of their health and well-being by providing practical guidance and personalized support.
Here are some of the key issues I help solve:
✔ Chronic Stress & Burnout – Teaching techniques for relaxation, mindfulness, and better work-life balance.
✔ Digestive & Gut Health Issues – Helping clients identify foods and habits that may be contributing to bloating, discomfort, and inflammation.
✔ Weight & Lifestyle Struggles – Providing realistic and sustainable strategies for nutrition, movement, and self-care that work with each person’s unique lifestyle.
✔ Sleep Problems – Offering holistic solutions for better rest and recovery through herbal support, mindfulness, and stress reduction techniques.
✔ Low Energy & Fatigue – Helping clients identify nutritional gaps, lifestyle habits, and stress triggers that may be affecting their energy levels.
✔ Lack of Motivation & Accountability – Guiding clients through habit formation, goal setting, and ongoing coaching support to help them stay on track.
✔ Mental & Emotional Well-Being – Using yoga, breathwork, mindfulness techniques, and cognitive behavioral strategies to help individuals build resilience, reduce anxiety, and feel more grounded in their daily lives.
One of the biggest challenges people face when trying to improve their health is sticking to new habits—and that’s where having an accountability partner makes all the difference. By working with me, my clients know that they are heard, valued, and cared for, and they have someone supporting them every step of the way.
What Sets Me Apart:
A Truly Holistic Approach – Many health coaches focus solely on diet or treating hormonal issues. I integrate nutrition, herbalism/supplements, movement therapy, stress management, and mindfulness, addressing the whole person rather than just symptoms.
Root Cause Focused – Instead of offering quick fixes, I help clients identify and address the underlying causes of their health struggles, leading to long-term and sustainable results.
Empathy & Personal Connection – I know what it feels like to struggle with health challenges, which is why I approach every client with compassion, patience, and genuine care.
A Blend of Science & Tradition – I combine modern health coaching techniques with traditional natural medicine and movement therapy, offering a well-rounded and effective approach to well-being.
A Supportive & Judgment-Free Space – My goal is to make health and wellness accessible and enjoyable, not overwhelming. Whether someone is taking their first step toward a healthier lifestyle or looking to deepen their wellness journey, I meet them where they are and support them at their own pace.
My Mission & What Drives Me:
My goal is not only to help individuals achieve better health and well-being, but to advocate for healthy living and educate future generations on its importance. The choices we make today don’t just impact us—they shape the health and future of our children and the generations to come.
I truly believe that when we take care of ourselves, we can show up better for our families, our communities, and our world. That is what motivates me every day, and that is why I do what I do.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Resilience is often thought of as pushing through no matter what, and for a long time, that’s exactly how I operated—until I learned a better way.
There was a time in my life when I was struggling with my own health issues while still working, showing up, and pretending like everything was fine. Like so many people, I believed that rest was a luxury, not a necessity. So I kept pushing—ignoring my body’s signals, overcommitting, and exhausting myself, all in the name of resilience. I told myself, “Just get through this,” even when I was running on empty.
But over time, I realized that this way of operating wasn’t sustainable—not for my health, my happiness, or even my ability to do my job effectively. True resilience, I discovered, isn’t about ignoring your body and mind; it’s about finding a way to keep going while taking care of yourself.
This journey taught me that resilience isn’t just about endurance—it’s about adaptability, self-awareness, and self-care. It showed me that I am deeply committed to my work and to others, but that I also need to extend the same care and compassion to myself.
Now, when I work with my clients, I bring not just knowledge, but lived experience. I understand how easy it is to fall into the trap of overworking and neglecting yourself, and I also know that there is a better, healthier way forward. My resilience is no longer about pushing through at all costs, but about showing up in a way that is strong, sustainable, and supportive of my overall well-being—and I help my clients do the same.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
For most of my life, I believed that success came from working harder, pushing through exhaustion, and always saying “yes.” Unfortunately, we live in an environment that glorifies hard work and hustle, where rest and relaxation have almost no space. The unspoken message was clear: if you’re not constantly overdoing and overcommitting, sacrificing your time, and pushing yourself to the limit, you must not be trying hard enough.
I lived by this belief for years—grinding through work, taking on too much, ignoring my own well-being—all under the assumption that this was the price of success. I thought that slowing down meant falling behind. But eventually, my body forced me to listen. I was burned out, exhausted, and struggling with my own health issues. No matter how much I pushed, my energy levels and well-being kept declining.
That was my wake-up call. I had to unlearn the idea that success requires constant hustle and sacrifice. I realized that:
✔ Hard work is valuable, but it’s meaningless if it comes at the cost of your health and happiness
✔ Rest and recovery are not signs of weakness—they are essential for long-term success
✔ Overcommitting doesn’t mean you are more dedicated; it often means you are neglecting yourself
✔ It’s not about “Work Hard, Play Hard”—it’s about “Work Smart and Take Care of Yourself”
This shift in mindset changed everything for me. I learned that true success isn’t just about professional achievements—it’s about maintaining balance, taking care of yourself, and being present for the people who matter. Now, I help my clients do the same, guiding them to prioritize their well-being while still achieving their goals.
