We were lucky to catch up with Mag Electric recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mag , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Our most meaningful project to date was our debut album “Full Throttle” released February 2024. We wrote the album after playing together for 3 years, writing, practicing, and gigging. It was very rewarding to see the results of all that work come to fruition and be able to share it with the world.

Mag , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Brooklyn heavy-hitters Mag Electric originally emerged as the brainchild of guitarist and vocalist Jack Simchak, bassist Scott Meyer and drummer Bill Peluso, three friends with a shared lifelong passion for old-school hard rock. All seeking to open a new creative chapter, the three joined forces to form Mag Electric in 2020, and have been gaining momentum at blistering pace ever since.
Building on the groundwork laid by influences from QOTSA and Black Sabbath to Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, ZZ Top and beyond, Mag Electric take the classic hard rock sound on a dusty, hazy detour, crafting an unmistakable signature sound whose potent mix of hard-driving riffs and psychedelic undertones has earned them a diverse and growing fanbase as well as critical acclaim from major outlets like Roadie Mag, who dubbed their debut single Iron Horse “an immediate classic.”
With a slew of singles, a full-length album, multiple professional music videos and a growing reputation on the northeastern US tour circuit under their belts, the band are now preparing for their biggest year yet, with a second full-length album already in the works, as well as plans to grow their social media and streaming presence and extend their touring reach further than ever before — all to be officially announced in due time.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The. most rewarding aspect of being an artist is sharing your work with the world and having people connect with it.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
There are a lot more helpful people out there who will lift you up, just need to find them, don’t give up.
