We were lucky to catch up with Maegan Calle recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Maegan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
As a writer, I wanted to figure out how I could use the skills I’m best at to make money. After tons of thinking and applying at jobs, I realized my resume was really good. I also got contacted back and had three different resumes for different areas of work. My friends started asking me for help when suddenly I realized, there’s probably hundreds or thousands of people who need help with resumes too. I decided to create a website and Instagram to promote my writing services doing resumes, cover letters and other personal documents that people don’t know to compose themselves. I believe I solved a huge problem and now am just stuck on how to continue to grow! My approach to this is one of a kind- economic and of course personalized. I don’t have an automatic resume generator, I do each and every document by hand. I also give discounted rates to returning customers or customers who buy both a resume and cover letter.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Maegan Calle and I’m a professional writer and published poet. My passion for writing has been a prominent part of life since I learned to read. I got into the resume writing and document generating business to help people who don’t have the gift of writing still get that interview. Often times, people overthink what to include and what not to and after working as a hiring manager for a private company, my experience in that area only grew. I wanted to keep doing what I loved and help others as well. Through my writing services I have been able to help people create personal contracts and I have helped others get the job of their dreams.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
There were times that writing was slow and not paying the bills. I still wanted to thrive in my business and also began working with resin during the pandemic. This helped me continue to have an artistic outlet and stay relevant on social media. Since so many people were out of work and not looking for any personal documents, doing this and adapting this way only made my business and brand grow.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
This is very hard for my business because people want to make sure they are paying for a legit product. I have to encourage my clients to go online and read reviews. I also ensure to give great customer service so when I finish a clients document, they can leave a review on my site. This helps build credibility.
I also have discounted prices on edits for returning customers which helps me connect with them long term. I have had many people come back and update their resume with me which makes me proud that the document has lasted and helped them continue to grow. I have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I will not stop until the document you asked for is everything you want and more.
I am also this way with my resin art. If a private purchase is made for a custom piece, I make sure the purchaser is happy with the final product.
