Madisyn, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.

In September of 2021, after years of healthcare management, I decided to take a leap of faith and open my own business supporting businesses in business management and social media management. The decision wasn’t made lightly, but I felt a burning desire to create something of my own and make a positive impact on small businesses. Little did I know, this venture would not only be a professional endeavor but also a testament to the strong relationships I had built over the years.

Having always prioritized genuine connections with colleagues, I was pleasantly surprised when, upon starting my business, I found myself receiving messages from former coworkers and bosses eager to work together once again. It was heartening to see the outpouring of support and trust from those who had witnessed my dedication and leadership in their businesses wanting to continue working together but in a different way.

Hi, I’m Madisyn, and my journey in the management field spans 15 years. Before launching Wasson Virtual Solutions in September 2021, my background was in healthcare management. The drive to create something of my own had always been a spark within me.

At Wasson Virtual Solutions, we specialize in solving a unique set of problems for businesses. Many companies desire the expertise of a seasoned manager but may find it challenging to afford a full-time employee. That’s where we come in – providing business management solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of businesses looking for professional guidance without the hefty price tag.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

In September 2021, as I launched Wasson Virtual Solutions, I managed a full-time job while also caring for my one-year-old son. Balancing these roles, I often worked late into the night, focusing on client tasks after putting my son to bed. Over two months, I diligently built my client base to a point where I could confidently leave my full-time job, securing the income needed to fully launch and sustain my business.

To achieve this, I proactively reached out to potential clients who could benefit from my services while leveraging the power of social media. My business grew by sharing my story, highlighting how I could assist others, and showcasing my professional background. This approach proved especially beneficial in the aftermath of COVID, as businesses were in urgent need of support, and I positioned myself as a valuable resource for their specific needs.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The most powerful and reliable source of new clients for my business has undeniably been word of mouth.
