We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Madison McGhee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Madison, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?

One of the kindest and most memorable moments in my wedding career came from a mother of the bride who genuinely touched my heart. From the very beginning, we shared such a special connection, and throughout the entire planning process, her warmth and encouragement never wavered. After the wedding, she surprised me with the most heartfelt handwritten note—full of love, gratitude, and belief in me. In her words, she told me I had something truly special and encouraged me to take a leap of faith and start my own company. Her support came at just the right time and gave me the confidence I didn’t know I needed. It’s thoughtful, incredible clients like her who remind me why I fell in love with this career in the first place—and why I wake up every day so grateful to do what I love.

Hi! I’m Madison McGhee, owner and creative force behind Reverie Wedding and Event Planning, proudly based in Memphis, Tennessee. With over a decade in the events and wedding industry, and as a Master Certified Wedding Planner through The CWP, I found my true passion in the wedding industry after years in corporate event planning.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

A big part of building my reputation in this industry has come from staying calm under pressure and maintaining a consistently professional presence—no matter what the day throws our way. Weddings and events can be high-stress, high-stakes environments, but I’ve learned that a steady, composed approach not only keeps things running smoothly, it also puts my clients, their families, and even vendors at ease. My ability to problem-solve quickly and efficiently, paired with a polished and respectful demeanor, has earned the trust of clients and peers alike.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

One of the greatest compliments I receive is when new clients find me through word of mouth. The majority of my business comes from referrals—past clients who had a great experience and are eager to share my name, and trusted vendors I work with weekend after weekend who confidently recommend me to their couples. It means the world to know that the people I’ve worked with recognize the care, professionalism, and dedication I bring to every event. Building strong relationships and creating unforgettable experiences has naturally grown into a network of support that I’m incredibly grateful for.
