We recently connected with Madison Holmes and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Madison thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Looking back on your career, have you ever worked with a great leader or boss? We’d love to hear about the experience and what you think made them such a great leader.
The best boss I’ve ever had just so happens to still be my current boss. Melissa Romero, owner of Timeless Aesthetics of Atlanta is not only an amazing leader for our team, but she is a genuinely great person with a heart for helping make others feel beautiful, inside and out. You will know she is coming before you even see her when you hear her laugh. I’m so grateful to all of the opportunities she provides our team for continued growth, within the company and ourselves.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I became a nurse in 2012. My original background was in emergency and ICU medicine. As I was obtaining my nurse practitioner degree, I was offered a job in medical aesthetics. Honestly, I had no idea what it even was at the time, but thought it sounded “fun” and interesting.
I decided to take the job and see what it involved. I ended up LOVING medical aesthetics. I connected with my patients and was able to establish a healthy working and emotional relationship with them. I believed this was important in a field such as aesthetics, as it required extreme trust in the provider.
My mission was to deliver quality and honest care. Word of mouth and referrals quickly gained me a large and loyal following. My social media began to grow, and I started to become established within the injecting community.
I have now grown to a very large local following and even have clients travel from other states. This has allowed me to be booked for 4-5 months out at a time while maintaining patient retention. I am always humbled and grateful for my patients who trust me to treat their friends and other loved ones who they are close with. I am constantly seeking ways to evolve and elevate my injection and safety techniques. I have personally been invited to train with some of the largest names in the industry such as Dr. Surek, Dr. Swift, and Dr. Yoelin.
Education has always been a passion of mine. Along with my two colleagues at JC Aesthetics Training company, both named Jennifer, I provide training for other nurses looking to get in to medical aesthetics. I love this field and feel so lucky to have found a career in which I can help others while having fun.
Although there are other great injectors in the Atlanta area, one thing that I believe sets me apart from other injectors in our field is my ability to connect with patients on an emotional level. Their backgrounds often touch my heart and their stories stay with me to this day. I became a nurse because I love people and this career allows me to show love by making others feel beautiful.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe a reputation is heavily built on building a sense of trust with your client base. By being honest with my patients, telling them what they may need or NOT need, I’ve been able to connect with patients and potential patients on a deeper level. This has definitely established a sense of rapport. By gaining their trust, they are more likely to personally refer their friends, family, and acquaintances who also already have a baseline sense of trust. I believe this has greatly contributed to building my reputation, along with my social media presence.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Always staying humble. Continuing to build a social media presence. Staying honest. And being willing to fix and correct issues if a treatment didn’t turn out quite like you and the patient had hoped and planned.
