We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Madison. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Madison below.
Madison, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be successful in business is being able to show up every day – including the bad days, weeks, months or years. To me, it’s not necessarily about how many highs you have, but how you are able to get through your lows.

Madison, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Madison. I’m a NUCCA chiropractor, Pilates instructor and content creator. My goal is to help others become the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves.
NUCCA chiropractic changed my life at 20 years old. I started the care originally for neck pain and was amazed to find it helped alleviate my migraines and help me get of my ADHD medication. It changed my life so much that I decided to become one myself. NUCCA a gentle and specific form of chiropractic that restores balance to the entire spine by aligning the top bone known as the atlas or C1 bone.
I was first introduced to Pilates at age 14 by my mom. I started with semi-private reformer classes. Over the years, I dabbled with reformer and mat Pilates. It was until a few years ago when I had a nagging sciatic pain return and nothing seemed to help. I turned back to Pilates and never have left. Pilates has not only become my career but an integral part of my wellness routine.
Healthy living shouldn’t be a privilege to some but accessible to all. That’s why I created my Instagram page to help share the knowledge I have about chiropractic, Pilates and overall wellness to my followers.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
A few years ago when inflation set in place, I really felt the effects at my chiropractic office. I was in a large space and up to that point I was doing exceptionally well. But then slowly I saw the tide turn, with patients slowly turning away. Being a cash practice can have its definite perks but also its lows. So when disposable income gets tight, unfortunately self care is one of the first to get cut.
In order to ease my anxiety and supplement my income, I searched for months on what else I could do that fit my schedule and something I was passionate about. That’s when I rediscovered my passion for Pilates.
Now I’m grateful for that rough patch because I don’t know if I would have been open or brave enough to take that leap. It was truly a blessing because I love mixing my days up with teaching Pilates and reaching others in a way to make them healthier.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Going door to door! This is such an underrated strategy in my opinion. When I opened my office in 2020 I had planned all these massage events, referral events with other providers, dinner talks to get new patients. Well with the pandemic that went out the door. So instead of just going digital (which I still did) like everyone else. I created flyers and went to every house in the town I was practicing. I wore gloves and masks because you couldn’t be too safe then.
I think for any business the more direct you can get to your customer, the better. It helps to have referrals from other providers and patients but it also helps for the customer to see your face. Also maybe it’s the exercise or maybe it’s just getting out of your quiet office that helps calm your new business anxiety. I also think it might boost your SEO because more people are organically searching your name if they read your flyer.
I did this for 2 years straight. Rain or shine. Windy or snowy days. Once I finished my town, I went to all the neighboring towns. For anyone in sales, I highly recommend going door to door. You really get over your fear of rejection. Not only will you market better but you will become a better business owner in the end.
