We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Madeline Bodoh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Madeline below.
Madeline, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
About 7 years ago my husband of 18 years was diagnosed with PTSD, after serving multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
We were in New York, visiting his parents when we decided to go Axe throwing, he really enjoyed it, and he said it calmed him and reduced his anxiety. So we decided to open one of our own and he has really thrived and made a lot of leaps and bounds with his depression and anxiety.
Although it was a daunting task and very hard at times, we have really enjoyed it. Because we also serve the Fort Bragg community, which is the biggest army base by population. Within this population, there are many other soldier/Wounded Warriors that suffer from the same thing and it has been his mission to provide that service to our active service members and veterans.
Since then, we have added a rage room and paint room to assist in this same stress relieving methodology.

Madeline, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Sorry placed this in last segment
We have expanded even further with our mobile ax, throwing trailers that we custom build for our clients so they can also enjoy the same service just not with a large overhead cost of a brick and mortar.
Have you ever had to pivot?
As we stated previously, Covid hit us just as hard as everyone else were a lot of people could not, or would not want to leave their homes to participate in recreational activities. When we did open back up, we started our rage room which has brought numerous new faces to our business to experience, the stress relieving power of breaking stuff and not getting in trouble or being upset about it.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
We tried to get loans from our bank and other banks, but it seemed as if you weren’t in business, you couldn’t get a business loan. We reached out to an investment firm that asked us for our business plan. Luckily, our business plan was well thought out and meticulously written that we were able to get funding for our start adventure.
