We were lucky to catch up with Maddison Monroe recently and have shared our conversation below.
Maddison, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?
Maddison is autistic, we were told from a young age she may not be able to do alot of things. Instead of taking this as a defeat we decided to take this and push Maddison to be all she could be. This was the start of her journey. Autism is often very misunderstood and She has proven that with all she has accomplished thus far.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Maddison is a 6 year old influencer/model. She is silly and full of joy and She loves her family and traveling. We started out taking professional pictures of her when she was just one years old. As Maddison grew she loved to dress up. So between that and pictures we started her a fashion page and eventually it just blew up and everyone else loved Maddison and her fashion too. What i believe sets maddison apart from other kids who does what she does is the fact that she’s autistic and doing this. She never gives up and always tries even when faced with a difficult task. We are just so proud of her nomatter what. We want people to see her and see that anyone can do anything they put their mind to whether they struggle with a disability or not.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
We learned that not everyone supports what we do with maddison and that’s okay. We have been told to let her be a kid, who says shes not? To not push her to do things autistic kids aren’t supposed to do. But who says that autistic kids or adults can’t do what maddison does? Why does it have to stop there? Why not push or should I say motivate or guide an individual to their full potential? If we don’t help lead then how will she ever know what she could have done or been.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
With time and patience we have built maddi a platform she can always look back on and It all started with a few pics posting weekly. We love sneakers in our family so we decided to take pictures with maddi in her kicks and her little fashion outfits and her page grew and grew. My advice would be to stick to what you love and don’t give up. Be consistent that’s the key.
