Maddison and Natasha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Talk to us about building a team – did you hire quickly, how’d you recruit the first few team members? Any interesting lessons?
As with any business it takes time to add to your team. Natasha started with just her and after five years of successful hard work, she added Maddison Levine. An organic pairing from the start, we were gym partners and spent a lot of our time pushing each other to work harder, be better, and hustle for our achievements. What we had in a gym partner, we needed in work life as well. The SD Coastal Team was born!
Having not worked in the real estate industry before, Natasha took Maddison under her wing. We are continuing to learn, grow, and add to our team! Through our journey, the biggest lesson has been that finding your next team member does not always come exactly when you are ready or from a traditional interview process, your future business partner is someone who shares your values and tenacity. You can learn the business, but you cannot teach work ethic. This has proven itself once again with the latest addition to our team.
As our business has grown, it was time for an operations manager! Natasha and Maddison have extended their five-year partnership by hiring a like-minded “Chief Inspirational Officer.” We have formed the “Dream Team” and continue to excel in the escrow industry throughout San Diego.
The escrow and real estate industry is constantly changing, and our SD Coastal Team keeps on top through experience, knowledge, compassion, innovation, and determination that works hard for one another and harder for our clients! Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
Natasha started her career in real estate working as a Wholesale Account Rep in 2003. When she moved back to San Diego, she started working for Foundation Escrow, taking her sales skills from mortgage lending to escrow service. Maddison joined Natasha at Foundation Escrow in 2017, taking her relationship/sales expertise from logistics to escrow services. We created our SD Coastal Team brand immediately once we joined forces. For just over 5 years now, we have been revolutionizing the escrow game with the most up-to-date technology including our seller protection plan, seller net sheets, and many more. We strive to be the best resource to keep our clients at the forefront of the Real Estate community.
In a matter of a few years, we have been able to take our, “In five years, we hope…” to “In five years, we have accomplished so much.” The SD Coastal Team works hard for one another, and even harder for our clients. We are passionate about escrow and real estate, holding your hand every step of the way. What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
We started our career by attending different caravans in our territory as well as multiple networking events to meet our future partners. You have met and
built relationships in all facets of this industry. We love our clients and have formed unique relationships with everyone. Our existing relationships have been the best new source of clients. Nothing is more trustworthy than a recommendation from a friend. Prospecting starts with digging into your CRM and nurturing your existing connections.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Authenticity. The biggest key to our business is being real. There are tons of different methods and formulas for how to be successful or scale quickly, but
nothing is more effective than being authentic with your clients. From meeting my business partner in a gym class to gaining new clients, the relationships we have with our clients are true friendships.
