Maddison & Caleb, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

The story of how our company started, starts with why we met!

Caleb and I took our first date to learn photography and to practice with my Nikon D3200. We took an adventure and drove a jeep to the top of a mountain to capture the sunset together. From that moment on we were inseparable.

Before we both met, we had rediscovered our long forgotten passion of the creating. We both loved taking photos and that passion soon became another trip across the United States! Caleb was an over-the-road truck driver and together we journeyed across new states into amazing new landscapes!

We decided to come off the road in 2021 and start our own company. This started Marah Media!

This business is so meaningful to us because we want to talk with people, make precious memories for families to keep for generations and to capture time in the most authentic way. We aim to glorify our creator, the one who makes this possible and guides our hearts! We owe all of our success to God and those who have supported our business along the way!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

We are a photography and videography company serving mostly KY, WV, VA, OH and TN but we will travel all over the world!

We got into the wedding photo and video industry by meeting a top videographer in WV and working under him briefly as we started up our own company!

We want to provide clients with the most meaningful memories for them to reflect on! We aim to shoot in a documentary, cinematic, and story-telling style for both photography and our films. We want to tell your love story!

We are so proud to be from the Appalachian Mountains in the commonwealth of Kentucky! We are proud to serve those families near and far and that those who have us document their memories trust us to capture every single detail!

We are so honored to also share our joy and passion through laughter and our authentic personalities during every shoot! We will provide information about your session, our cameras or how we operate! We want our client to feel comfortable and confident so don’t be surprised if we are complimenting our client(s) a lot during the session!

We also strive to make our brand the best it can be especially with providing our clients the top booking sites, website management and email services! We strive to stay up to date with all camera gear, trends and photos on our site!

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?

Not everyone will understand your art, but that’s the joy in creating something new! It’s fresh and it may or may not be accepted in the minds of those who are only aware of what they are currently used to.

Some will like your art, some will love it. Some will try to copy it, some will just draw pieces of inspiration and make it their own in a different way. Some will clap for your accomplishments on your art, some will hope you’ll fail.

Our advice, do whatever your heart tells you because nobody can be YOU. Do whatever makes you happy, and you won’t be worried about what we listed above!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Trust god, and love people. We believe we are meant to serve others and that’s our main goal!
