Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Maddie Beans . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Maddie , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I have worked in corporate America and I hated every moment. I liked what I was doing but I hated how I had to go about it and the lack of personal contact I got to have with the clients that it mattered for the most. I want to know that my work is helping other succeed. My mission stems from that. I believe every single business owner out there should be able to stand next to their company with the kind of confidence that invokes complete authenticity. A buz word for many but still so powerful.
When a companies clientele wants someone they can trust, a business owner should be able to stand by their brand and know that it communicates well to those clients and it stands for exactly what they want it to. Something they can stand by proudly.
When you meet your clients with the kind of brand that breaths out genuine ideas and authenticity, you attract the kind of clients you most want to serve, not to mention the types of employees who want to work for you.
Maddie , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been in the marketing realm for about 9 years. Working with the communications team at Hillwood Development, doing graphics and session management for a CEO coach, and then a designer for a promotional marketing firm. I have always considered myself a “forever learner”. Not sure if that is a real thing but I say it is! I believe we can learn from anyone and any situation. That is really what made me want to strike out on my own. I want to work with people I can teach and they can teach me. I am such a people oriented person and I want to spend my days helping real people and getting to see how my work makes a difference in their success. I provide branding and web design that sparks excitement for business owners and CEOs of those companies. It makes them excited to work and tell people about their work. That genuine excitement can make word of mouth revenue spike! If you and your employees believe in your company, people will follow that joy like a light. We crave authenticity as consumers.
Helping the right people reach these goals with their branding is the absolute best thing I can do with my talents and it has to be what I am most proud of.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth and networking! It all plays into the authenticity I whole heartedly believe in. People trust those they know. I build relationships with people and show them my abilities and how I work with my clients. From there, you get referrals. The best way you can prove to someone you are worth the investment, is by showing them and the people they know that you care, you know what you are doing, and helping them, even when it doesn’t get you anything. You are sowing the seeds of relationships where businesses know you, trust you, and have you at the top of mind.
If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?
I do also sell t-shirts on an Etsy shop on the side. They are honestly just fun and a good way to let off some creative steam, and a way to just form a little extra income.
