We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maddi Rowedder a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Maddi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share a story that illustrates an important or relevant lesson you learned in school
Throughout all my schooling, spanning many different courses and avenues, one truth has remained constant: we are nature. This profound lesson has shaped not only the way I live but also the way I’ve built my business and how I interact with the world.
The seed of this understanding was planted during my time in massage school. My teacher was someone I deeply admired—an endless well of wisdom with stories that felt like treasures. Her tales always wove together her experiences with people and her deep, intentional connection to the cycles of nature. She didn’t just teach us anatomy and technique; she lived in harmony with the rhythms of the earth, honoring the seasons and the natural ebb and flow of life in everything she did.
At first, I didn’t fully grasp the genius behind her way of being. But as I moved on to Reiki training, herbalism school, womb studies, and YTT, her words and example began to resonate on a deeper level. Each new path reinforced the same message: we are not separate from nature—we are nature.
I remember sitting in my Reiki class, my hands hovering over a class mate, and feeling the flow of energy mirroring the currents of a stream. In herbalism school, I learned that the plants I worked with carried the same wisdom of cycles that I was beginning to notice in myself. In womb studies, the connection became undeniable—our bodies, just like the earth, follow cycles of the moon and sun. In my YTT, and under the sacred wisdom of Ayurveda, it was once again evident that nature is our greatest teacher.
Looking back, I realize my massage teacher was more than a skilled practitioner—she was a kind of magic worker. Her “magic” wasn’t mystical; it was her ability to honor and embody the cycles of nature in every facet of her life. Now, I understand that this connection to nature is the foundation of her wisdom and power.
Today, I carry this truth with me in all that I do. I believe the most important thing we can do—for ourselves, for others, and for the world around us—is to embrace the innate cycles that nature teaches us. This lesson has been my compass, guiding me toward a life of intention, balance, and harmony.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who don’t know me, my name is Maddi, and I’ve always known I wanted to work with people. Even as a teenager, I was deeply drawn to helping others heal and feel better. Back then, I had a Pinterest board called “Dr. Veg” (a nod to my high school nickname, Veggie, because I was the only vegetarian in my class). That board was my way of exploring ideas and dreaming of ways to care for my loved ones during times of illness, discomfort, and distress. At the time, I never could have imagined where this passion would lead me—I didn’t even realize my current path was a possibility. But today, I know that young Maddi would be so proud of the work I do.
I’ve spent the last few years diving deeply into the interconnected worlds of massage therapy, herbalism, Reiki, and womb circle facilitation. My offerings are rooted in bringing people home to their bodies and reminding them of their innate healing capacities. I specialize in bodywork, energy healing, and creating herbal potions designed to support holistic well-being. Many of the plants I use in my potions are foraged locally, honoring the wisdom of nature and the belief that what grows around us is meant for us. My aim is not to add another product to your shelf but to offer tools and remedies that reconnect you to the cycles of the earth. Each blend is created with intention, using what’s in season and what’s energetically aligned to meet your needs (or mine haha).
What sets me apart is my devotion to working in harmony with nature. My journey has been shaped by the belief that we are nature, and by aligning ourselves with its cycles, we can access profound healing and balance. This philosophy infuses everything I do, from crafting herbal remedies under the full moon to holding sacred space for women to connect with their wombs, each other, and reclaim their power.
I’m most proud of the transformative spaces I’ve created for my clients and community—spaces where people can feel safe, seen, and supported on their healing journeys. I want potential clients and followers to know that my work comes from a place of deep care and intention. Every product, service, and event is designed not only to provide relief or guidance but also to empower and inspire.
If there’s one thing I’d like people to take away from my brand and work, it’s this: healing is not something we need to chase—it’s something we can cultivate by honoring the wisdom already within us. I’m here to help you tap into that, and facilitate your own innate healing abilities, whether it’s through a soothing massage, a nurturing herbal blend, or a sacred gathering that reconnects you to your inner power.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the most important lessons I had to unlearn was the modern-day programming that if you aren’t overworking yourself, you won’t be successful. For years, I was afraid to start my own business because I believed it would consume my entire life, leaving no room for love, friends, family, or fun. I thought success only came to those who sacrificed everything to “hustle” day in and day out.
But that belief simply isn’t true. My perspective shifted when I began embodying the lesson that we are nature. Nature doesn’t work in constant overdrive; it moves in cycles—of growth and rest, of action and reflection. When I started listening to the inner cycles of my body and aligning my work with the rhythms of nature, everything changed. I realized I didn’t need to grind every day to be successful. Instead, I could create an embodied, aligned business that not only supports my clients but also honors my well-being.
This unlearning process has been transformative. It’s given me the freedom to trust that success comes from working with intention, not exhaustion. It’s also allowed me to build a business that feels sustainable, fulfilling, and deeply connected to my values. And, most importantly, it’s given me space to enjoy life—to nurture relationships, celebrate moments of joy, and fully embrace the moment.

How’d you meet your business partner?
The story of how I met my business partner, Addie, is a beautiful testament to the power of intention and support. I couldn’t have built what I have today without her, and her presence gave me the confidence to take this leap. It was only through this journey that I truly came to understand how essential support is. My teacher, Usha Anandi, often says that to succeed in this world, you need at least two layers of support for everything you do. and I couldn’t agree more. Addie is my strongest support, just as I am hers. We complement each other perfectly, creating a balance that feels effortless yet powerful.
Meeting someone like her felt almost unimaginable, let alone becoming business partners. Both of us had vaguely set intentions to find a friend who would inspire us to grow, expand, and love in the deepest way possible. Just a few months later, we struck up a conversation at work and were astounded by the similarities in our dreams, values, and goals. From that moment on, we became an unstoppable team. I couldn’t imagine doing this without her—and I shouldn’t have to! Our partnership is a profound reminder of how setting clear intentions, trusting the universe, and being open to support can bring incredible connections into your life.
