Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Macy Schuchart. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Macy , thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I actually had just spent about 8 months living in the Hawaiian jungle, i had wen’t over for an “internship” with the expectation that I would come back and then try to get a job as a nutritionist, or something as I had always been fascinated by the human bodies and health. Here, I learned more about herbs and nutrition then my masters degree and any schooling had taught me. Herbs were greatly integrated in indegenous peoples every day, and i thought it was impressive how every plant there was utilized – and how each one had a unique effect on the body. i was living in Big Island, Hawaii during covid and when there was a major shut down we grew and cooked everything – I developed a fond relationship with this knowledge which led me to launch my first brand, Anceint Bliss – Inspired by the transformative energy pele holds (the Volcano Goddess of the Island) I loved the way hawaiians incorporated herbs and the natural world into their every day lives, and that was something I wanted to bring more of to the western world.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We are an organic, non-gmo brand with no additives or fillers. We don’t skimp on integrity in the supplement space and I think thats mostly what sets us apart from other brands. We’re focused on real change in the body, so every one of the supplements we offer is heavily tested and can make lasting change on specific health conditions. We are really proud of our connection to our community, and how we work with and focus on health conditions that don’t always get the most attention they deserve, where there is less knowledge and education for those going through it. A lot of the people who work with us genuinely love our products and promote them in their specific niche, which has made us grow tremendously
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped build reputation was connecting with real people out there who had specific health conditions – reaching out, sending them the products, and having some create content on it. We wanted the products to get out to the right people at the beginning, and we prioritized that. Rather than paying someone to promote, we always focus on finding people who absolutely love our products already and letting them promote, this has allowed us to gain real customer and word of mouth traction. We actually never used ads, we built our whole customer base through health professionals and niche wellness creators who took our products themselves.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I invested a lot (and i mean a lot) of money into a business I co-founded with friends. It didn’t work out, the friendship or the business. I’m not sure if the business ruined the friendship, or the friendship affected the business falling out. But i had to sit with the mistake knowing I wasted a ton of money and time, and all of the stress and hurt it caused letting the friendship and business go. I really had to lift myself out of the rut, and moving forward was the only way. it really helped me to focus on the fact that not everything works and its okay, and we need to keep moving forward and flowing -following what is actually working and what the universe is bringing into our lives.
