We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Maćeo Ali. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Maćeo below.
Maćeo, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The story behind my mission is to build a platform, that allows independent talent to be given the opportunity in the music industry. I grew up listening to music that had meaning to inspire others to do well and self respect. I want to push out that same message in the world that is opposite of what we hear now.
Continually, as a Director, I am producing a TV show called “TrappedIN” that will give insight on what most individuals in the urban community go through on a daily basis.
Maćeo, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Sergeant First Class in the Army National Guard. I have two deployments under my belt and use my assets from my tours to create my business. It was difficult operating from overseas and dealing with early on financial struggles that businesses face. During that time, I leaned on the sacrifice of my my wife, who encourage me to keep going despite the early struggles during COVID, and for that I would forever love my wife.
Continually, I started my business by being educated of the music business, by working with different artist and major record labels, such as Sony Records. I went to Dark Horse Music School to learn the correct business terminology. I graduated from Phoenix University with a Business Degree and currently a student at Liberty University, and became a paralegal by obtaining my certificate from National Paralegal College.
Furthermore, my discipline came from the military and my upbringing of being responsible. I understood that my priorities came first, so sacrificed a lot of freedom. I have a clothing line, headphones, caps, and various bags that my store sell. I have two artist that I manage and a TV called “TrappedIN” that I wrote and directed.
Any advice for managing a team?
The advice I will give any facilitator is understand everyone individually and give clear instructions on your goals. If you tell your members what you require of them and show what it looks like, then the results will come. Morale is hard to keep up because life hits everyone differently.
I would recommend to be empathic to their life and reward your team members when they do great, and encourage them when things go bad.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience from social media by understanding my target and core audience. I needed consumers who would be loyal to my products no matter the situation. I branched out to new customers once I seen that my sales were consistent. If you are building social media as plan of media presence, make sure that you have a plan first. Research and read books to understand each function the the social media device that you are using.
