Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lyrical. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lyrical, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
In 2012 I took a risk a left my corporate career as a Disability Case Manager for AT&T and stepped out on faith to start my own business. Lyrical Eyes Management I began managing different talent around the Chicago Land area and really made a name for myself. We are now in 2023 and I am stronger than ever. I have managed talent all over the world from Lil Durk, Tink, Ravyn Lenae who is now signed to my label at Three Twenty Three Music Group, Vicki Street, ChinaShadae, Freddie Old Soul, Kylin, Camari Gilbert and a host of so many more past and present.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m an African American woman from the south side and south suburbs of Chicago. I’ve been in the entertainment business for about 17 years now. I’ve been very successful with being known all over the world for my clients I have worked with as well as my management skills. For the past 3 years I have been apart of the Revolt Summit. This year will officially be my 3rd year. I’m proud of my self for that because I have literally worked my ass off to get to where I am today. It hasn’t been easy at all especially being a woman in this business. People would like to think it’s a man’s business but it’s a tremendous amount of queens behind the scenes. My services that I provide is artist development and then pushing the longevity of that persons career to the masses. Making them believe.in what I see for them and with them. I’m not an easy person or a push over but I’ve created stars so I kind of know what I’m doing at this point. My mission is to get people to get from behind the normal act of just doing something to be doing something and really making whoever tap into their greatness which requires patience, listening, and hard work. I think for me the amount of fans that I have still makes my heart flutter because im just a woman who wants better for myself and others and if I can help you I will. IF the budget is right lol
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding for me is seeing my parents and children be wow’d by my accomplishments and seeing me on news papers, online things, hearing people ask about me ect. I’m only trying to make them proud. I realize I’m hear to serve on this earth and though it gets draining that’s just what God feels my purpose is. So I simply do it with grace. I plan on retiring in a few years to finally live my life and my accomplishments out in a peaceful way if I can.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I think for me I had to unlearn about youre suppose to give everyone a try and help them. You can’t do that cuz it will burn you out. You’re not even suppose to be as available either. It’s ok to say no and it’s even more ok to not respond. You have to go with your gut all the time. Your gut is God or at least in my experience it has been. Energy is real and people will suck you dry because they think you’re suppose to drain yourself for them. You can’t do that. A lot of times I said yes when I know in my soul I should have said no. I wasted money, time, years, mental health all types of shit on things and people I should have said no too. Save yourself the stress and just go with your gut.
