We recently connected with Lynneia Perkins and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Lynneia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Early in your career, how did you think through the decision of whether to start your own firm or join an established firm?
I started in the insurance industry in 2015 working with several insurance agencies and IMO’s. I wasn’t getting the tools and training that I needed to become a top preforming agent so I was looking for an agency that will help me build grow and retain clients by teaching and structuring plans to help fit my clients needs instead of just sealing them a product. I happen to meet my mentor in 2017 where he explained how to properly assist my clients by meeting all their needs through assessing their pain points, weather that be debt elimination, college planning, retirement planning, or legacy creation American Classic Agency taught me the fundamentals to service my clients and build my own agency and team while learning the in’s and out’s of the industry.
When I decided to join ACA (American classic Agency) I was already with another IMO and wasn’t happy with the company and the lack of training that they had to offer. I was stuck and not really getting ahead in my career and that was causing conflict in my household. I needed mentorship and knowledge of the products and services to help assist my clients and I was lacking those key tools. I started to join seminar’s and conferences to network and brand build, I went to the Insurance News Net Conference in 2017 and met some amazing individuals and top performers in the industry and decided that American Classic would be my Agency foundation.
Since joining ACA I have become a member of the leaders group been awarded and recognized through out the agency, feature in several different publication, interviewed on several different podcast and been ask to be panelist and speaker for many events in the Ohio area. Also I have been able to start my own business LRP Financial Services LLC with there support and partnership. This opportunity has been an amazing journey and a blessing for me and my family.
Lynneia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I stared in the insurance industry in 2012 sealing auto and home owner’s insurance and decided in 2015 to get licensed sealing life insurance and annuity products. I was fortunate to stumble upon this career trying to find work that was flexible enough for me to do while I was undergoing treatment and medical care due to me having Multiple Sclerosis. Having an unpredictable health condition was very challenging when it came to keeping employment with a standard employer so I decided to take matters in to my own hands and become an entrepreneur. Having a flexible schedule has helped me mange my treatment and care which I wasn’t able to do when my schedule was more restrictive.
Not only was I able to take control of my time I was also able to build a team of agents that works and maintain business no matter what’s going on with me health wise. Having a team of successful agents has giving me leverage to build an organization in the Ohio region that’s willing to go out into the community and teach middle America the importance of financial literacy, estate planning, and asset protection. Also knowing that I’m not doing it alone!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Well for several years I was in my season of loss. It seemed like everything in my life was going in downward spiral. After having several miscarriages, losing mobility in my entire right side after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and being financially unstable and dealing with depression I decided that enough was enough and focused on letting go of all negative energies and people that was consuming my time and mental space. That’s when I started to focus on healing from my loss I accepted that MS is a condition that I have but I wasn’t going to allow it to take full control of my body and my daily living activities. I decided start LRP Financial Services and build my brand and focus on helping others that may be dealing with situations similar to mines and make it my mission to educate my community on the importance of financial literacy.
