We recently connected with Lynn Maranan and have shared our conversation below.
Lynn, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
I named my business after my late mother because she has always been one of my biggest inspirations and support. Growing up, I watched her work hard and stay dedicated to her passions, and I wanted to honor that spirit. Naming my business after her not only keeps her legacy alive but also reminds me of the values she instilled in me: perseverance, kindness, and a commitment to excellence. It feels like a personal touch that makes everything I do more meaningful.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For folks who may not have read about you before, can you please tell our readers about yourself, how you got into your industry / business / discipline / craft etc,
I’m Lynn Maranan, born and raised in San Francisco and still residing in the Bay Area. I’ve always had a love for beautiful candles since my early teenage years. I got into the industry during my wellness journey, and my curiosity drove me to deepen my understanding of health and wellness.
After delving deeper into health and wellness and understanding the effects of our environment, I recognized there are numerous steps we can take to enhance our surroundings and promote better health, reduce the environmental impact and adopt a healthier lifestyle. I made some significant changes, including eliminating plastics from my home and uncovering the toxins present in my food, haircare, and even the candles I had been using. It was a real eye-opener; I had always enjoyed these products but was unaware of their toxicity and the potential health risks they posed for both men and women.
That’s when my real journey began. I started to gradually remove toxins from my home, replacing my non-toxic candles with clean-burning options, even though they were pricier than conventional ones. This motivated me to learn about candle making as a way to save money. After lots of trial and error, I developed my own recipe, using only premium, clean-burning, and non-toxic ingredients, and began making candles for personal use.
what type of products/services/creative works you provide, what problems you solve for your clients and/or what you think sets you apart from others.

What are you most proud of and what are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you/your brand/your work/ etc.
I’m most proud of the commitment to quality and sustainability that defines my brand. Each candle is made with care, using only premium, clean-burning, non-toxic ingredients and recyclable, reusable packaging that prioritizes the health of our customers and the environment. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that I’m providing a product that not only enhances people’s spaces but also supports a healthier lifestyle.
I want potential clients and followers to know that my brand is rooted in a deep passion for wellness and an appreciation for luxury. I believe that creating a beautiful atmosphere shouldn’t come at the expense of your health, and that’s why I strive to create candles that are both indulgent and eco-friendly. Each scent is thoughtfully developed to evoke feelings of comfort and joy, and my goal is to foster a sense of serenity in every home.
Ultimately, I hope to inspire others to make mindful choices in their everyday lives. When you choose Eves & Co. candles, you’re not just selecting a product; you’re embracing a lifestyle that values well-being, sustainability, and elegance. I’m excited to share this journey with my community and to continue spreading awareness about the importance of clean living.

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
I produce our candles in small batches at my studio in the Bay Area. When I got started I didn’t have a teacher or mentor to guide me, so I sought out information online and learned from those with experience in the craft.
Everything is handled in our studio, from making the candles from scratch to managing the entire process, including labeling and packaging.
Some lessons learned along the way are that I’ve learned that attention to detail is essential in every step of the process, from sourcing quality ingredients to final packaging. Flexibility is also important, as challenges often arise that require quick adjustments. Additionally, being transparent with customers builds trust, and continuous learning helps me stay updated on best practices and trends in the industry. Each of these lessons has shaped my approach to creating the best possible product.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Sure! When I first launched my candle business, gaining traction was tough. Sales were slow, and I often felt discouraged. Instead of giving up, I focused on attending local events and engaging with potential customers online. I shared my story and the passion behind my candles, which helped build connections and brand awareness. Over time, those efforts paid off, and I began to see a loyal customer base grow. This experience really highlighted the importance of connecting with my community and staying committed to my vision.
