We were lucky to catch up with Lynn Hobson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lynn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The Money Lynn Pop Up & Expo has been a powerhouse for 25 years, showcasing and elevating over 4,000 successful minority-owned businesses along the thriving East Coast. With a track record of turning pop-up shops and expos into billion-dollar success stories, it’s become a beacon for entrepreneurship and prosperity.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As a Publicist and Pop Up Shop Queen, when financial storms hit, I didn’t retreat; I embraced the challenge, showcasing resilience. In the early days, each setback fueled my determination to move forward, turning obstacles into stepping stones on the path to success.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Unlearning the notion of wavering on my price was a pivotal lesson. I realized that my worth is non-negotiable, a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment I bring to each endeavor. While understanding the art of selling, I also discovered the power of standing firm. Over-delivering and meeting deadlines are intrinsic to my work ethic, and I now recognize that compromising on my value undermines the quality and effort invested. Embracing the steadfast belief in my price has not only elevated the perception of my work but has also been crucial in fostering a sustainable and respectful client-business dynamic.
