Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lynn Echo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Lynn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
The title of my business is derived from my gifted talent of music
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve been singing since I was 9 years old, and writing songs since I was 13. Songs usually would come to me in a dream as if God Himself were speaking the wtords to me. I would wake up and write down what I could remember. God echoed through me!
When I was 17 years old, I illegally would sneak into a bar/ lounge to sing karaoke. I always took notice at how those who liked to drink, would always choose something suitable for their taste buds. They had so many choices, and they obviously enjoyed how it made them feel.
When creating my business name, The Echo Lounge, I decided to combine the two together.
Echo- Simply means I hear the voice of God and I repeat what He tells me through lyrics and actions.
Lounge-A place to feel relaxed.
I wanted my customers to come to a place where they could feel relaxed, and enjoy choosing an item that made them feel good. The same way my listening audience enjoyed my music, which touched their hearts, is the same way I encourage my customers with uplifting words, and sometimes prayers, The Echo Lounge is a happy place. We consider our customers actual family
We offer stylish accessories such as a variety of hats, and over 50 styles of fashionable sunglasses to include designer frames. Unlike our competitors, we take the time to help our family of customers to choose what’s right for their style, their size head and their shape face. In addition to we want them to stand out and not look like anyone else, we do this by offering several colors, patterns and styles, which is more than what our competitors offer.
What makes me proud about my business is the feedback I receive often from my family of customers who most importantly thank me for giving them one on one attention, or for lifting their spirits
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been to always wear my brand. Since I sell hats and sunglasses something I’ve been doing since high school, no matter where I go, I’m always wearing one of my hats(fedora style) or I’m wearing fashionable sunglasses. I’m constantly stopped while out and asked “where did you get that hat/ sunglasses from”. That’s my perfect opportunity to give my elevator pitch, 2-3 min of introducing them to my business and what I offer. Once I give them my business card, they are potentially a future customer.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Working 9-5 under a leadership that caused stress, made me think even harder about stepping out on faith to follow my dreams of becoming a business owner. With the help of my loving husband, and daughter and advice from friends, I walked away from the job and pursued my career of being a business owner.
