Alright, Lynell thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Not sure I do remember being young and redesigning my dolls clothes and reconstructing my own tops either just cutting or sewing by hand I had a unique sense of style as a child as much as I could be bein I wasn’t buying my clothes lol
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi I’m Lynell LS a.k.a. Mizzbapz many might Not know but Mizzbapz is an acronym for beautiful ambitious powerful style style is spelt with the Z to put my own twist on things I’m also from the bay area norcal and thizz is culture and the Miss came from the 80s children books little miss
They were different characters of moods or feelings etc
I consider myself to be entrepreneur but my passion is definitely Fashion all business ventures almost have been centered round my passion for fashion
I’d also like to consider myself what I like to call a fashion engineer I like to take things that is not so ordinary in fashion and create wearable art in the past I was taking bullet shells and creating jewelry and embezzling them on clothes from there I started designing facemask called Swaggmazk 2017 which Many didn’t understand the concepts yeah there was if you didn’t see my vision and believe in me and we’re definitely my first customers I was creating fashionable one of one wearable art mask I traveled often And was inspired from my trip to South Korea I notice people wore face mask when outside in public spaces or on public transportation
So I created /i travel often it will protect myself from airborne germs definitely on planes or crowed spaces
From there I start marketing them to health professionals and cyclist later there was a big fire going on in the norcal so that also was another niche for sales fast forward to 2020 the pandemic hit and I was already in stock with tons of fashionable mask sold out of them all and started making mask by hand which I couldnt keep up with the demand or the bigger companies
Hands would be so Tired from sewing for days in between all that I feel exhausted and wanted to create something else in which I did and like da put the Swaggmazk up yet I feel I should of just evolving with the mask I’m notches facemask and ski mask but like some opera of the phantom Fashion lol
I am a designer / fashion Stylist wardrober & personal shopper I work for myself as of now and that’s goin ok ups and downs I used to work with fashion firm company as a stylist and a record label in the creative image department i’ve also worked as a fashion editor for a fashion magazine “swank fashion mag” and Fashion coordinator lead Wardrober for a fashion Organization IFN

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I was wearing the mask that I had created for myself and people would always question why and what it was for a why I was wearing them funny because on planes no one questioned me lol , would explain my concept and people would be like I just dont get it
it didn’t stop me from creating my vision or living my truth and what I mean by live in my truth you know regardless of how someone speaks negatively of you you still do the things that you’re passionate about or what you feel good about doing
With the negative feedback from some I took that as fuel to keep creating I was going to keep creating anyway but they just pushed me more to make the mask super cute I wanted them to be like an accessory
I kept creating and creating and then my creations was an essential during the pandemic I do wish before the pandemic I would have push my idea harder or pitch that idea to bigger companies to help produce my vision but I’m still happy that I started what I started
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Creating things that people just adore and making people feel beautiful helping enhance one’s confidence
